I think people forget that the 2019 Nationals weren't the 06 Cardinals. They were a super talented team that played like a 110 win team after June. With two aces on top of that. Trust me, when I watched the last 6 astros seemingly all strike out while sorrounded by Ranger and Yankee fans, I wasn't thinking "If only we struck out more". It was lineouts that killed us, I remember at least 4-5 with RSIP in Game 7 alone.
1-10 w/risp games 6 and 7 at home. I think it was bregmans 2 run homer in the 1st inning of game 6. After that 0-9 the next 17 innings. It was a big part of the loss. It was great pitching that beat us. Do I think we woulda done better with Colby Rasmus types? Of course not. My point was that great pitching beats everything usually.
I have a feeling Correa is going to have an historic postseason. He's always had good playoff #s and is also playing for a contract. Pressure seems to bring out the best in him.
So Yanks and Dodgers not winning anything real is due to them declaring themselves destined champions in spring training for the last decade?
I made a comment the Astros offense got significantly better after changing approach. You made a response quoting that saying their offense was useless and pointed to a series where the offense was better than 2015 against better pitching. If you want to say great pitching beats great hitting fine, I'm not going to argue with that in an abstract sense but context matters. The Astros gave up 13 runs in the last two games of 2019 and they had leads in both games, so it wasn't all the offense. I don't think it's right to ignore how they got to that point and then use a 2 game sample size where they hit the ball hard and had back luck on balls put in play to say the offense was useless.
I'm curious about these articles claiming the Texans are "balling out" But yes, this is contaminating the only PURE (please for god's sake don't @ that guy) forum on the bbs
now you’re implying that I said they were useless altogether. I was clearly stating that they were useless at home against the Nats and it cost us the series.
You should've responded negatively to your butt buddy when they mentioned run-diff in a positive light. You did not, so once again, 'anecdotal' will happen based upon feelings
I'm looking past everyone too. We already know the trophy weight. It's just a matter of who will get married this time?
I don't know what you're talking about above, but I'll assume you got me. You win. Apologies. Please don't talk to me anymore until you have something interesting to say. I'll afford you the same courtesy.
