This bad! NO DIRECTION! PLAYERS WANTING OUT! BAD TRADES! After watching over 50yrs of Houston Football, this is the WORST! I've lived through; 1) Superstars leaving - Campbell and Moon 2) Bad Coaching - Ed Biles, Hugh Campbell 3) Bad Ownership - B. Adams But this ERA IS BY FAR THE WORSE! This organization has no direction. *We have a LAME DUCK Head Coach, that will NOT be here in 2 yrs. *A PRIEST with no football experience is running the Football Operations. *We have a Franchise QB who wants out and I see some fans HOPING for a replacement QB who hasn't even played a COLLEGE game yet, in 2024!! *Cal McNair (NOTHING ELSE NEED TO BE SAID)
Agreed. Except the part of franchise QB. He wants out and he wants to run away from very serious allegations that he put himself in. Two things can be true. Organization has been dysfunctional, and Watson is a piece of crap that has tried to scapegoat a franchise to deflect from his own transgressions.
Cal does what any son of a billionaire would do, delegate all responsibility and sit on what his Dad built. I read a stat recently that only 30% of business are successfully passed down a generation, he obviously isn’t capable of the responsibility and should sell. But why would you when you’re back rolling the way he is.
I read that he was groomed to lead the Texans. I mean, his wiki bio says it all: I mean, how many NFL owners can say they played running back in middle school and then walked on to the UT football program?
The team is definitely inept. Cal sucks. However, as down as I've been on the team, I think there is a long term plan in place. I'm talking like a five year plan. Watson wanting out (and subsequently being in trouble with the law) certainly set that plan back by a few years. We have to trust the process. My frustration with Mills is that I don't want the franchise to waste time trying to make him a long term viable option as a starter. That he is not. Hopefully the plan still has us looking for a franchise guy this year or next. Don't spend any money on the team until they prove it, but until then, trust the process.
The team is basically bereft of talent after 2 years from being up 24-0 against the Chiefs in the playoffs. It’s pretty mind boggling.
If by process you mean lose as many games as possible to acquire the highest picks possible, I say yea things are definitely going as planned. However, the process only works if your picks pan out. It's not fair to judge Caserio based on this year's picks seeing how the cupboard was pretty bare but there's not enough historical evidence to say that the braintrust of Caserio, Cal, and (possibly?) Easterby will know what to do with those picks.
Don't blame the players one bit. Dumpster fire organization and always will be with the ownership currently in place.
Hmm. A 6'3'' revolutionary player in his respective sport unintentionally destroying a Houston sports organization and forcing an extreme makeover of the front office simply because the Houston team couldn't beat his team. Wonder where I've seen this befo--
Beat me to it. Back-to-back 1-13 seasons, outscored by nearly 18 points a game on average in '73. Just listen to his own players (starts at 20:40)... And the mid-80's for the Oilers weren't much better.
This reset and rebuild has been long overdue. Enjoy the grind embrace the struggle. Caserio is going to build a true winner in Houston. Just takes time this is only year 1 And I won’t bother to mention the hand he’s been dealt he has a lot of work to do. That’s for sure
But that’s why the Caserio hire was huge maybe just maybe they finally got the right guy to really build a winner here.
