So far Jays winning: good Dodgers losing: good Giants winning: good Boston losing: good Seattle losing: bad Yanks/Rays: TBD
Washington up 5-1 now, bottom 5 Still scoreless, Rays 2-on 2-out top 7, new pitcher coming in for the Yanks...eta who promptly gets Lowe to pop out. Scary moment earlier for the Yanks, Gio Urshela sprinted full speed into the dugout chasing a popup, made the catch, slipped on the top of the stairs and ****ing flew into the bench. He was down for a while, walked out of the dugout and didn't leave the game. It looked even worse than I just described it.
Whoever comes out of that mess will have their work cut out for them! Game on Monday, another game on Tuesday, WC game on wednesday, ALDS on Thursday, no back to back games in the same city…
This is why I wanted the 4-way: Rays don't need any help in the DS, in fact I'd be perfectly ok if they lost it.
But the 4 way is really just one set of games Monday (both games would be played), WC game Tuesday, then ADLS Thursday. Red Sox would likely host both games (if they win Monday’s). Not as exciting. The Rays will still likely face a stiff opponent that will be quite battle-tested and unphased by the Trop HFA once their rotation/bullpen resets.
Colin McHugh just carved up Judge, Stanton, and Gallo. weak contact for Judge and Stanton followed by a 3 pitch K on Gallo.
Mariners showing that a team with a negative run differential shouldn't be in the playoffs No. Blue Jays and Sox would have a playoff game.
