Again Dusty being Dusty. There is NO reason that Altuve, Correa, Brantley, or Tucker should be in the lineup with nothing at stake. He's been around long enough to know that injuries happen. Why risk it before the playoffs!! He's an idiot!!
Unlike past years, you can't flood the last game with prospects. I won't blame Dusty for this line-up. Siri and Castro are both nursing injuries, so he's doing about as much as he can. I'm sure he's told them NO DIVES, NO SLIDES and STATION to STATION baserunning.
Doubtful they all finish the game… but they are about to get 3 days off. Also its unlikely they could field a regular 9 by resting all of the top 7 hitters. Maldy - C 1b - ??? Marwin - 2b Diaz - SS 3b - ??? LF - ??? (Siri hurt) CF - Meyers RF - McCormick
This feels like the opening weekend of March Madness with 8 things to try and follow at once. Except I'm not at a sportsbar with a jillion tvs.
I'm guessing/hoping the plan to let Marwin play all 9 positions in a game is not going to happen today.
Tucker going for 30 HRs. So...who plays? Bregman and Yuli are already sitting, so Marwin and Diaz are already playing. Who will play 2nd and SS? Brantley wanted time in LF to test out his knee prior to the playoffs.
I remember rolling my eyes at the beginning of the season when Tucker was in a rut and they were talking about how unlucky he’s been, how he’s hitting the ball hard, what his batting average should actually be, etc. Well, they were right. He’s been one of the best at the plate for like the last five months, despite the different bouts with illnesses.
Hall of famer Greinke buying into pitching out of the bullpen while Odo b****es about being pulled after 5. Funny
When was the last time the Stros had 3 ballas with 30 home runs each ? I got tired of hitting the "previous season" button on baseball reference.
Springer’s 2019 was one of the most dominant seasons in recent Astros history… especially considering he only played in like 120 games that year.
