2021 Rockets Training Camp

Funny that the smallest guy this year (Tate) is also the toughest.

 

Naw, our roster is still very small. We definitely got worse defensively, and more than the little gain in height, we've lost a lot of weight in our rotation with players like Green, KPJ, Brooks, Augustin who will get bullied on D.

Also, Green is 6'4.

 

Something I need to say...

If Jalen Green is to win the Rookie of the Year...

Before I say this, I must say that I hate tanking unless its post trade deadline and we just suck. I actually think this team is going to be a lot better than we think.

Ok back to our regularly scheduled program... For JG4 (or JG0???) to win ROY, Rockets have to make the playoffs. They have to be better than expected and he has to perform at a mid to high level. And guess what...I don't have a reason to believe he wouldn't.

I doubt just because we have a couple of 6'6" guys in the backcourt means small ball is dead. I mean, we have maybe one dude who's legitimately over 6'9" (unless Sengun really is, too)? Our new color analyst and an assistant coach are taller than all of them.

 

no videos of sengun playing 1 on 1? ill assume for now its because hes torching them all and its not good for their confidence and PR

 

Every video I've seen of Bey playing defense , he gets lit up no matter who it is with the ball.

 

yeah and everyone looks to take him to the rack .... he's gonna have to be more physical defensively.

Right, his team has to do well for him to win it, so no tanking if that is the case.

 

Serious question, length and girth? That team with Tuck at center had length and were T H I C C.

 

Nope, only the Rockets. The league stipulated it because they hate Houston.

 

No way were the Rockets ever winning a chip with a lineup that small.

 

No doubt we need another BIG. Myles Turner, Jonathan Issac type would be perfect for this team.

 

Next years draft pick ..... 7 of the top 10 prospects are 6'10" or taller.

Only 2 of the top 10 are shorter than 6'8".

 

I am looking at this roster and I think Khyri Thomas may be the odd man out. Brooks is on exhibit 10 and will probably be converted into a two-way contract. One of Nix/Bey/Lamb is going to take up the other two-way spot. And the last cut will be made between Exum and Thomas, but they gave Exum full guaranteed contract this year which means Thomas is going to be the cut.

 

I don't think green is 6'6" but I don't think he's some foolish 6'3" either.

I think he's closer to 6'5" give or take.

 

Think Bey signed a 2 way contract last week.

 

i'm excited for this lineup in particular. we are going to be a lot better than people think.

 

it's funny that this season we could finally see House improve his game with the young guys going after him trying to take his job. he is also in a contract year so if he shoots a high clip we could get a nice return for him at the deadline.
