Lol the Astros are still one of the best teams in the majors and the Rockets have an army of young dudes that are going to be fun to watch develop. The Rockets could be in a much worse situation where they have no promising young players who could be potential superstars.
We may blow this 5-6 game advantage we had over the White Sox and lose home field in the divisional if we keep pulling this bullshit. Assuming of course we actually still win the ****ing division.
"Then, as the Reds drifted, then nose-dived late in the year, Baker insisted there was no need for urgency." Right about now, the Astros could use a sense of urgency https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...out-now-Astros-could-use-a-sense-16498064.php
McHugh is the opener tonight. His wife and even himself spend more time on Astros Twitter than Rays Twitter. McHugh, if could go ahead and walk the first few batters and then give us a few meatballs that would be great. The way the offense has been going those meatballs will probably be outs anyway.
In contrast to some of the previous offensive no shows, the Astros seemed to put some good swings on pitches. Luck / good defensive plays turned several hard hit balls into outs. Tampa pitching (at least earlier in the game) was clearly trying to throw strikes (not looking to get Astros hitters to chase outside the zone) and Astros were swinging and making contact. I might be selectively remembering things though. I don’t know where people find the stats about expected hits based on velocity/angle in batted balls, but I’d be interested to see that. Maybe my impression is wrong.
Lets see if Dusty goes for the clinch today and actually has the full lineup on board with Myers or Chaz in CF. Siri ain't it. Go for that W tonight and he can worry about all that resting guys for the playoffs this weekend vs Oak It's actually fitting LMJ gets the ball for this game, and going against a familiar face in McHugh
The team had a .218 xwOBA last night, so they were pretty terrible. It doesn't mean very much though for how they will hit in the playoffs though.
I just have a bad feeling about things right now, a very bad feeling. This collapse has been cooking for over a week now. This is not good.
