pretty much what I suspected. Just the way KPJ was talking/tweeting about the future led me to believe in exit interviews they let him know he’d be the pg going forward.
Love hearing this.... but I remember Moochie Norris used to shoot tons of 3s in preseason. Gotta shoot under the bright lights! Excited to see what Garuba can bring. Maybe he'll be this year's X-factor thread.
If Garuba can hit open 3's at an acceptable level he will see the floor a lot. His defense is potentially mind blowing and he already started for arguably the best team in the world outside the NBA featuring a few NBA calibre players.
This Just in.......... Rockets guard Dante Exum tripped over his own feet and got hand sanitizer in his eyes while leaving his media day photo shoot. He will be out indefinitely.
Even during the practice he's not hitting his shots....anybody's guess is as good as mine as to why he's on this roster
Can I have dinner with Steve Silas? Is that weird? GALVESTON — As much as Rockets rookies Alperen Sengun and Usman Garuba will have to adjust to the NBA, that’s just the start. Both are also moving to a new country, Sengun from Turkey and Garuba from Spain. And they are doing it at just 19 years old. That has made Rockets coach Stephen Silas particularly determined to ease the transition. “Very aware, very aware,” Silas said. “It’s daily conversations. Alpi came to my house for dinner. When we get back, Usman will come to my house for dinner. Just so they feel a sense of home, not necessarily being a job all the time. There’s communication. There’s group stuff. There’s a lot to it. “Being 19, coming from a completely different country into the NBA, it’s hard enough as it is being a rookie in the NBA, adding the age and the cultural differences, it’s a big deal. I think about that quite a bit.” Though Silas said he will touch base with his players each day, he will seek to balance how he reaches out to his European rookies beyond the usual coaching of players, even players so young. “Not daily,” Silas said. “I’m not going to overwhelm them with like ‘Hey, buddy …” But they need to know I’m there for them. I’m intentional about making sure I kind of touch all the guys. Those guys it’s very important.”
