It sounds like Simmons wants to be a post scorer. So now you have Simmons banging down in the paint with Wood possibly sitting outside. Simmons doesn't have to handle the ball in this situation. KPJ will be the primary ball handler. Simmons would do better learning some post moves and also kicking the ball out to shooters.
THIS ^^^^ is still the best reasoning for acquiring Ben Simmons. With a huge caveat, Simmons has to WANT to be a Rocket. Otherwise Rockets should just take advantage of this situation - be the 3rd team to facilitate this trade AND dump Wall. Or stand pat and play our cards. Either option is win-win IMO.
Simmons does not want to be a Rocket and his dad / step dad. Lebron and Rich Paul don't either. LA or NY are the only options.
Even Rich Paul is not that stupid to think Simmons has all the leverage to dictate where he goes. Their options are limited to teams in West but neither of those teams include Lakers or Clips.
Post scorer? Really you really think that will happen really? After years of saying he wants to be a shooter now he wants to be a post scorer. Ben Simmons has the potential to be really good. The issue is if you dont even try you never get there. So he can say what he wants all day long it wont matter because he doesnt actually bring what he practices into games. Maybe he needs a change of scenery or maybe this is just who he is. The question is do you want to risk the Rockets future to find out?
Who is this guy and why is his tweet quote worthy? Genuinely curious because it seems that we, as a collective, have been accustomed to posting tweets of people whose opinion don't really have substance (e.g. insider info). Like I remember when @DonKnock posted on here but some are posting his tweets as if it's insider information. Maybe I missed something during the past year. Just trying to understand this recent phenomenon.
If I see Ben Simmons on this team next year, I may blame @Os Trigonum but I’m coming after you Don’t ever full ashleyem!
The dude can NOT shoot and paying him the crazy $ for the other stuff he does is not worth it. He's NOT a max player.
You’re reading too much into the tweet. First it offers an additional opinion that OP might have wanted to post but found it easier to just retweet a tweet. Second I believe Stanford is a journalist or something like that
Agreed. Max players carry non-playoff teams to the first round, or are clearly the #1 player on a team that goes deep consistently.
I just worry about his FT shooting mostly. I could live with the ineptitude of the other aspects of his game. Id be willing to up my offer to Wall/House/2022 Nets pick/2023 Bucks pick and the Tate.
