So is LeBron James, it didn’t happen for Morey so Stone should get all the credit.

Morey was annoying, but people sound dumb as hell throwing around words like sociopath to describe him

if u knew all the characteristics that need to be displayed in order to diagnose someone as a sociopath, u wouldn’t sound so ignorant…people need to educate themselves because the stupidity is off the charts these days

hey man, it’s meant is a person who flouts common decency and normal interactions in society. Didn’t mean it as a certifiable psychiatric diagnosis. This is a message board not a psychiatric ward.
Sorry if that word triggered you or if it is completely out of line. It may be…
The point is this is a person without any decency in interacting with humans: lying, self-promoting, treating other humans as corporate bonds, treating fellow GMs as imbeciles. That’s what was meant here.

Morey has his issues, but going around the board calling him a sociopath is very unnecessary slander…appreciate u clarifying

Morey valued talent over chemistry causing him to view players as assets to be traded for the next talent upgrade, and does seem to get off and always trying to be the smartest in the room…people also boost his ego acting like he’s the Albert Einstein of basketball with his analytics and Moreyball…we had a ton of people on here calling him the best GM in the NBA

On top of valuing talent over chemistry, he completely ignored that a GM and the organization he leads can help in the development of a human player. That’s the difference between a corporate bond and a human.
Look at Kyle Lowry, for example. Kudos for spotting the opportunity to get a major talent because he was disgruntled over the Conley pick. Kudos for that, that was great trade. But then he traded him for the Steve Adams pick, and Lowry proceeded to six All-Star appearances and an NBA championship. He didn’t realize his potential in Houston, he did it in Toronto. People should do a search to see how much Lowry credits his relationship with Masai Ujiri for that. Or people should ask why players want to go and play for Pat Riley in Miami.

Sooo, what set off this whole conversation is that I am starting to see things are starting to get different with the Rockets now. I see 2 troubled souls in KPJ and JT being treated in a way that helps them grow and develop as players and as humans. Meanwhile over at Phily it’s a clusterfck. So, yeah, the inability of Morley to act like a decent human being has something to do with all this. That was the point.

I’ll allow all the Morey slander. How he left here was one of the most cowardly moves I’ve ever witnessed.

U do know that Steven Adams pick was used in the James Harden trade right? That’s a weird anti-Morey example to use

Also, Lowry was getting better each year he was in Houston. Toronto got prime Kyle Lowry, we didn’t. The Lowry we got had been down in Memphis averaging 9 and 3 his 1st 3 seasons in Memphis. He averaged 14 and 7 as a starter in Houston.

How he left was genius. Working for the worst owner in the league is just flat out dumb

No joke. He was able to make a move to a contending team, in a larger market, in a part of the country that he likes and got a large contract. He wasn't staying in Houston regardless, he didn't want to work for TF and he already had lost influence in the organization after the ownership change.

You must be new, because what you said is complete nonsense. At the time Lowry was publicly feuding with McHale for letting Dragic taking over his starting spot after Lowry had that really bad infection. Morey used Lowry to get us that pick that was the integral part of getting us Harden.

The mistake there wasn't trading Lowry, the mistake was signing Eremy Lin who was a crybaby that was mediocre instead of just giving the player option to Dragic.

Unless you are trying to argue you would rather have Lowry than Harden.

Morey is about to go spend time with his family again once Embiid realizes Philly is no contender and demands out.

Yup. He'd definitely prefer that to waking up everyday and having to deal with the worst owner in the league that ruined a franchise is a span of just 2 years

why would he be miserable. he gets to kick back and relax while the rockets lose games and be one of the worst teams yet again, without looking over his shoulder. strange he would need to look miserable

Because he's "waking up everyday and having to deal with the worst owner in the league that ruined a franchise is a span of just 2 years", duh.
