Players likely didn't get to bed until 4 or 5am
Unplanned bullpen day with a bullpen that's been taxed lately
A's had their ace on the mound

 

I'd be lying if I said I was worried about The Astro's, or mad after last night's game. Mainly because its The Astros, out of nowhere they can at any moment unleash some absolute unfair punishment to the opposing team. I would not be surprised if today is a lopsided win for Houston. Yeah they lost last night, and by alot but it also only counts as a single L..... No big deal, been here before... Astros win the World Series this year so head to Gallery furniture...

 

I actually don’t think they finish the season on a hot streak. They’ve got some nagging injuries (Bregman, Tucker, Alvarez, Maldy, Castro), some guys are noticeably worn out (Gurriel), young players probably playing more than they ever should (McCormick/Meyers), and pitchers pitching more than they ever thought they would this year (Garcia, Graveman).

I think they’re just trying to secure that #2 seed and get healthy for the playoffs.

 

I like that you didn’t mention Brantley. JMO but I think they’re hiding behind the log with Mike and giving him some extra rest ahead of the playoffs but I agree with the rest. Get that #2 for sure
