Still arguing that COVID-19 isn't serious after 680,000 Americans have died and that vaccines, masking and social distancing isn't needed...
I know where do I get off belly aching about someone just simply trying to overthrow Democracy. I definitely am overreacting at "tourist events" like this:
They were mostly fat, old, weak fools who don't really represent America. T & P to the true believers among them.
If you had a better core of values, you would have basic tenets to fall back in when confronted with a particular topic, instead of pinballing and pointing to things off topic. Don't feel bad, most other libs that have no real meaning or calling in their lives do the same.
I would say that democracy is a pretty core "value" that everyone holds that obviously you do not since you think that basic concept is just a distraction not worth discussing.
(Surprised this hasn't been posted as an attack on the Director) This is very confusing. For those that have NOT been following.... FDA and CDC each have their recommendation on booster. FDA recommended booster for 65+, anyone at risk, and anyone with increased risk of exposure (health care workers). CDC recommended booster for 65+, nursing home residents, 50-64 with risky underlining health problems, and to boost every 6M. CDC recommended against booster for workers that put them at increased risk of exposure (health care). Right call by the CDC director to overrule her advisers against booster for health care workers. Health care workers were first to be vaccinated (some 8 months ago). We already have good evidence that Pfz/BioN wane quite a bit after 4M but still maintain great protection. However, we do NOT know after 8M and in addition, we can't afford to have health worker sidelining (quarantining) during this wave and shortages of health care workers. CDC chief overrules her advisers on Covid-19 boosters - POLITICO In a late-night decision, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky endorsed offering Pfizer’s booster shots to workers at high risk of severe Covid-19 — overruling agency advisers who just hours earlier had voted against inculding that group in the distribution plan.
This booster stuff is hastily planned and they're not giving a direct answer to what people really want to know... when do the initial vaccines expire? I'm assuming we have millions of vaccines in stockpile just sitting there while the rest of the world is working with 2nd hand vaccines or absolutely nothing. The messaging is bonkers, and they should've trial ballooned with an opening statement of experimental pilots confined to the elderly and immunocomromised. This does not need a mandate.
The exp date is on the bottles and reported by the manufacturers. I think it's 6 months from manuf date. But that's just an initial guess from the manufacturers. They can change the date after further studies (which has happened for other drugs; in fact, the Army has extended expiration date of numerous drugs after pushing manufacturers... they have a need to store medicines for years in case of emergency). Since covid vaccines are manufactured in batches and probably the factories are running daily, those first few batches are likely all used up by now.
Dude haven’t you learned ? politicians are immune! you the president or mayor , You can do whatever you want
No human has more blatant and consistent core values than Trump. I mean, a lizard, sure, but no human. If I can't eat it or **** it, then I will destroy it.
I meant when do shots run its course in our bodies in order to need a booster. Results may vary but I've read it was also six months but it seems they're carrying over assumptions with flu shot efficacy.
It's hard to study mask effectiveness given all the other variables. This is comparing universal vs non-universal mask requirements in two counties over the same period (7/15-8/31). That's a pretty good study. Study in Arizona shows effectiveness of mask-wearing in K-12 schools (govdelivery.com) Study in Arizona shows effectiveness of mask-wearing in K-12 schools PIMA COUNTY, Sept. 24, 2021 – Pima County co-authored a study published today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that shows universal mask wearing in Arizona K-12 schools considerably reduces the likelihood of a school-associated COVID-19 outbreak. The investigation included 999 K–12 public non-charter schools in Pima and Maricopa counties, finding that schools without a mask requirement were 3.5 times more likely to experience a COVID-19 outbreak. Pima County Health Department Director Dr. Theresa Cullen and the department's Schools COVID-19 liaison Brian Eller were among seven authors in the study, led by Arizona State University. "The findings reinforce and give credence to the existing guidance from the CDC and Pima County: Universal mask wearing in schools is absolutely an essential part of a layered mitigation strategy against the spread of COVID-19," Cullen said. Mask policies and school-associated outbreaks in nearly 1,000 schools were included in this study during the period of July 15 to August 31, 2021. Schools with mask requirements were categorized as having early mask requirements if the mandate was in place at the start of the school year, or late mask requirements if the mandate was initiated after the start of the school year. Of 191 school-associated outbreaks, 8.4 percent occurred in early mask requirement schools, 32.5 percent in late mask requirement schools, and 59.2 percent in schools without a mask requirement. A school-associated outbreak was defined as the occurrence of two or more laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases among students or staff members at the school within a 14-day period and at least seven calendar days after school started. The Pima County Health Department (PCHD) has and continues to work closely with all county K-12 schools -- public, charter, and private -- assisting in COVID-19 mitigation, testing and vaccinations. PCHD continues to support CDC guidelines, which recommend that K-12 schools implement universal indoor masking as part of a layered prevention strategy.
I thought that's what you meant, but wasn't sure. No one knows the answer to that yet. But you need to define what expire means. And really, we should be talking about 3 categories, at least - effectiveness against infection, against severe symptoms, and against death. Add in against long covid. Expire might, to some, means 100% effectiveness or maybe 90% effectiveness or even 50%. If we are talking about 100%, it expired on the very first day .
this is so sadly disturbing Doctor who has lost over 100 patients to covid says some deny virus from their deathbeds: ‘I don’t believe you’ (msn.com)
