Yep, this one could get ugly. I've been impressed with the way the Texans are playing so far, but seeing how Carolina shut down the Saints offense I don't see the Texans being able to put up many points with Mills. Panthers -7 is easy money.
If Mills just doesn’t turn the ball over this game could be close and we might be in a position to steal the game.
It won't happen, but man, Watson could take a big step forward in trying to rehab his image if he came out and said something like "I know me and the organization have our disagreements, but it would be a huge disservice to my teammates and the city of Houston if I continued to sit at home while the team needs a starting QB. I'm ready to go if the team wants me to." You put it back on the organization to make the choice instead of you, and you save yourself from looking like a selfish prick. Just my thoughts.
I question Watson's competitive spirit if he does not want to play, but I suspect that this situation is way too delicate for him to even think about playing. The investigation changes everything. I am sure that if the Texans were to make him active, the NFL would put him on the exempt list anyway. I don't think Watson can play even if he wanted to.
The positive is we will get an idea of the progress of Mills. We should see something that approaches growth but how much is the question
