Is it fishy Rich Paul is advising both Wall and Simmons to sit out until traded?

Ben Simmons came in second in DPOY voting this year and was a key part in a playoff run for a somewhat contending team (hence the level of criticism due to his failure). John Wall was the starting PG on a team that couldn’t even achieve a .250 win percentage. Wall was the starting PG of a team that lost something like 22-23 games IN A ROW. These two players are nowhere near equal. There is a reason Wall is called the TANK COMMANDER!!!

I am not a Wall fan. But that stat you use is a bit ingenious. About half of that losing streak didn't have Wall in the lineup. And he was there when we won like 7 in a row before the losing streak started when Wood went down.

Simmons may be the better player. But at least use some honest evidence to back up your claim.

I really don't understand why our message board is trying so hard to undermine Wall's value, relative to Simmons. It's bad enough that some of the national media with their ANALytics fetish have built-up Simmons to a ridiculous level, but why are the Rockets fans are playing the same tune?

It is pretty obvious that Wall is a legit baller, while Simmons is a role player, there shouldn't be any doubt about that. With the ridiculous exceptions of Simmons and Gobert all other max contracts are given to legit ballers, that's where the value in this league has ALWAYS been. Role players, as good as they may be, are just not as valuable.

I agree that my trade would involve a level of absurdity that we've rarely seen before but if I had to pick one franchise that has the ability to make the dumbest trade right now, Sacramento would be high on that list.

I don't like either of them but Simmons' cap number and his elite defense makes him a more wanted commodity than Wall, even if he can't score worth sh*t.

How about the 17 win season with Wall appearing in almost half of the games? But that’s not the main point. Simmons is significantly better than Wall. It’s not close

Why would Rich Paul want Simmons in Houston?

The Kings haven't made the playoffs in 15 years, the longest dry spell in the league. I'm surprised that their fans aren't picketing their venue 24/7! The Kings front office should be desperate to make them even a little relevant. Simmons, young and under contract for a good stretch, would certainly give the Sacramento fans something to get excited about. Pretty far fetched, of course.

The Kings fanbase is one of the best and loyal. I have a lot of respect and feel bad for them. They are the most long-suffering fans. They got robbed of a championship in 2002. And the Maloof family took over and ruined whatever they had.

It is hard to judge whether Simmons is a better player than Wall. They are so different and have very different impact on the game.

Simmons has better trade value because he is less overpaid, healthier, and younger. But Wall has a shorter contract left.

Neither guy can carry a team. Simmons would be a better role player if he had the right attitude. But Simmons and right attitude don't mixed.

John Wall was starting pg on a team TRYING to lose so they could get a top 3 draft pick, in which they successful accomplished. He also wasn't even playing during this 22-23 losing streak, but was THE reason we broke it. I can see you don't watch many games.

Now Simmons being a defensive specialist means absolutely NOTHING if he's unplayable in crucial situations due to his own scariness. Wall IS playable in key situation

Replace Ben Simmons on last year's team and we're WORSE. The guy is UNPLAYABLE in critical moments

    Circular logic.

By YOUR own reasoning, Simmons would have helped Rockets even more to ensure top 4 pick, amirite?

Your basketball IQ is in the triple digit negative.

No idiot. We wouldn't have got any significant picks with Simmons. So you'd end up stuck with a player NOBODY wants for multiple years, who will NEVER get significantly better. As opposed to getting 7 draft picks & securing the top 3 pick. You're idea of trading Harden for Simmons was BEYOND stupid and you're still here posting as if you're actually smart
