Looks like the valium kicked in for his wife. Cal just looks confused asking himself "where am I at -- I should be floating around my pool in my unicorn floaty"

Maybe Cal makes Caserio head coach next! LOL

I don't have that many deep thoughts about the NFL or the Texans specifically but ...

A NFL team with average talent and average coaching staff should go 8-8, give or take W.

OBie for all the hate thrown his way had a **** ton of 9-7 seasons, especially with QBs who I can not even remember their names (implies replacement level or below talent). I am willing to concede that OBie was an average coach.

I have no idea about David Culley. He did hire a coach staff with years of experience. In the pre-season, his D was not wiff-ing on tackles and his league average QB was making plays (like he should). His special teams looked all right.

Thus, going into this season with a weak schedule, I could see an 8-8-1 team if they were lucky.

Weak schedule? The weakest part of our schedule is our own division. I wouldn't call the Browns, Rams, Chargers, NE, Bills, Tampa Bay, Arizona, Seahawks, 49ers, or Jets weak opponents at all.

Klein Oak His dad Willie coached track and football and I think he may have taught history too. Just found out yesterday he retired earlier this year as AD at Spring HS.

People seem to be missing what is truly important in all of this. I was at the stadium yesterday and saw no signs of Cal's brick wall, that man is a liar and should be ran out of town.

    Average is quite generous.
Man is supposed to specialize in offense, was never ever able to create a top 10 offense.
Qbs u can't remember cause he chose them as starters and they sucked.
If u factor in his playoffs results including the ass blasting that we received from the chiefs where we blew a 3td lead in a quarter.

A fun fact, BoB during his tenure was the only afc south team that never made it into afc finals.

His only saving grace was he had Watson, and a weak ass division.

I'm not gonna waste more time repeating how sht he was at gm.

Based on game 1 we're gonna punish the Jets. Zach Wilson looked pretty bad early on. He salvaged a mediocre game, but overall the Jets look just like the Jaguars to me. Rookie coach and rookie QB - thats BBQ chicken for vet coaches like Lovie and Culley.

He did look bad early, but he did more than salvage the game. He was making plays in the second half. Looked like Deshaun out there with no Oline

He has to be able to identify the pressure. CAR lined up 7 in the box at times not even trying to disguise the blitz and Wilson just kept on without an adjustment - those are on him. The INT was right into the hands of the LB totally missed the coverage. Probably should have had another INT where the DB jumped the out on one of his scrambles. Was lucky to be able to recover one of his fumbles. Took a coverage sack on 3rd down at one point in the game and in general his desire to extend plays will get him in trouble just like Watson.

His escapability is very good. Quick release. His receivers dropped a bunch of balls this game. Needs a better run game to compliment his arm talent. Ability to use different throwing angles is elite already - dont see many young QBs go 3/4, sidearm and whatever is necessary to get the ball out. HIs first NFL TD was reminiscent of Mahomes.

Wasnt trying to admonish the kid, but I feel very comfortable saying the Texans will be able to compete against the Jets this year. May even resemble the JAX game. Lovie is smart - he confused the hell out of Lawrence so Im sure he'll have some tricks for Wilson too.

Agree with everything here, including the Jets not being good.
Hope he doesn’t get ruined by the organization. That’s one positive about Watson, he’s ruined himself.

Really, this whole class can be special. Really wish we could have got one of the QBs :/

Just our luck we get sandwiched in between what could be really great QB classes. Im hoping the Texans can avoid themselves this year with the high pick and drafting a QB for need when there really isnt one that can actually move the needle like Wilson and last years crop. Crossing fingers.
