Manfred will make sure this next letter to the Yankees will self-destruct...

Wow Yankees are still trying to cheat, they definitely would've been under .500.

I just don't believe they are a Good team at all. They are too dependant on Video Cameras stealing signs and having TV Screen.

I think in the Yankees dugout they hide TV Monitors to show signs of the Catcher

Giancarlo Stanton is such a terrible hitter, that he needs to cheat. Without cheating he is a Strikeout.

    Fastball only Hitter.

    It’s cheating! I didn’t make the rules. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/14/nat...aims-astros-cheated-in-2019-world-series.html

Washington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki said this week there’s “no question” the Astros cheated in the 2019 World Series, despite claims that the team stopped its sign-stealing scheme after the 2018 season, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.

“We could hear it from their dugout. We heard their whistling. What are you going to do?” Suzuki told Washington Post’s Thomas Boswell. “I kept thinking ‘We have to go to the field and work early on our signs in the World Series just to stop their cheating.’ It’s so stupid and so wrong.”

Unwritten rules is the cancer that infects baseball but the sport refuses to get a check up.

Funny how this story about the Yankees picking up tipped pitches (not illegal at all) is getting 100x more burn than the fact there is a letter from Manfred that is tied up and sealed in court, which likely discloses a waterfall of illegal Yankee activity.

They should let catchers and pitchers use ear pieces so they can't steal signs. There is a technology solution to all this. Though it could lead to coaches being able to coach pitchers and catchers from the bench, which would reduce scoring even more.

Coaches can already coach pitchers/catchers from the bench. Some managers relay signs to be relayed to the pitcher regarding pitch selection... although most will let pitchers call their own game.

Having wireless headset communication would likely result in on the field results similar as to today... with a decreased ability to relay signs from 2nd, minus the side of the plate the pitch may go on depending on when the catcher sets up.

The catcher literally sets up a second before the pitch. There is no way to relay the pitch that quickly.

Some catchers, with less experience, tend to set up earlier than they should and can get taken advantage of. There are also some pitchers who prefer a stationary target and get thrown off when the catcher sets up late.

There you go…worst sentence Ive come across on CF in about a decade. My god what a horrendous take. I really hope you don’t actually believe that nonsense, and that this is just a poor strike at humor.

If they can do relay the pitch from catcher setup, more power to them. The headset would still eliminate most of the issues just like using a machine to call strikes. Baseball just doesn't really want it because they want more runs.

Guys will still tip pitches. Runs still get scored when guys aren't at 2nd base. Eventually teams will learn the code-words they're using for the wireless headset communication that teams will illegaly utilize the field mics to listen in on...

There will always be a possible way to gain a competitive advantage.... but despite all of this, there is really no statistically significant data that says any team actually benefits from these schemes (but the fact they're still employed says enough). The 2017 Astros still hit better on the road than at home.

Okay, so maybe Walker was tipping his pitches.

But that's Brad Hand pitching. Explain.

Why is this not its own thread yet? We need separate threads for Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Rockies...

Yanks depend on center field camera to cheat at home... so they resorted to this on the road.

Cheating in Baseball is within the Game.
Cheating is not a unwritten rule, players get angry after it happens, players sometimes catch on.

Cheating happened since the game was invented.

Even Baseball Hall of Famers are Cheaters.

Steroids and other ways to cheat is Part of Baseball

The game has evolved to technology, Apple Watches, Cameras, TV Screens.
