Casey is probably better at keeping the chains moving. He has better legs. Hudson might have a better arm, but without time to throw, he's struggling. Dicker bobbling the punt was a rare mistake. Making 50+ yd FGs isn't expected in college.
Well, his mo on this board is being wrong about everything so that comment shouldn't come as a surprise
So I think to say that Sark threw the game isn't fair and a bit of an exaggeration HOWEVER... IMO, he waited until the game was completely out of reach to bring Thompson in because of (in his words) his gut instinct. I think that instinct was less about winning the game and more about not wanting to look like a ****ing idiot after he patronized fans who thought Thompson was the guy by saying they don't care about flashiness. Any coach that wanted to win the game would have benched Card who (even if he turn his game around) would have NO WAY to score fast enough. Thompson (if he's successful) can move the ball down the field faster. We lost because Sark didn't want to risk winning by bringing in the popular upperclassmen that he had just said wasn't the guy. Am I saying we would have won if Thompson came in early 3Q? No but I'm saying we would have had a chance unlike leaving card in.
Just so I understand you correctly.... When it comes to UT, it's OK to lump in past decisions made by people no longer in Austin, but when it's the Texans the past doesn't matter? Texans trade Bradley Roby to Saints
It was 7-16 early in the 3rd after the Foster INT. You can’t pull him right after we scored so do you pull him after the next series? Possibly but you’re talking about leaving Card in one series too long really. Obviously it went horribly wrong but saying Sark didn’t want to win out of pride is a bit much.
Conference play can’t start soon enough This dud is going to be only washed away if we beat some good opponents
I'm pretty concerned as Arky exposed the recipe. Stack the box against Bijan and bring the rush on 3rd down, the OL hasn't shown the ability to hold up on either. If Card gets shook early, these could be long long games ahead.
Good point. I'll amend and say Thompson should have come out at the start of the 2nd half. You're right, it's too far to say that he meant to do it conchiously however I still think there was an unconscious desire not to have Thompson come in and win the game because then he would be at war with the fans.
