One could characterize it as a federal mandate that all employers (> 100 employees) must require all employees to test weekly or show proof of vaccination. It shouldn't apply to work-at-home employees (not sure if it does or not). It's crazy to me that free, rapid COVID testing isn't more available to people, like in other developed countries. I would have preferred a mandate like this to be accompanied by better testing accessibility.

I am all for that, hell, if your not smart enough to get a FDA approved vaccine that could save your life.....or your family and friends then I don't think you should mingle with those who choose to live. Federal mandate of vaccination is not new. Federal mandate through OSHA is new. The general idea of gov mandating vaccination for public safety is well established with few exceptions (religious or health obviously). Expanding coverage for public safety is quite reasonable.
That's a great idea. If you want to leave the country, you just need to be vaccinated or have a neg test. You likely need that anyway to enter any modern society.

What all of the anti-mandate people don't seem to understand is that we tried it your way for months and it didn't work. You were not compelled to be vaccinated and guess what? A more contagious variant popped up and began infecting not only your compatriots, but children who cannot exercise whatever myopic definition of "liberty" you have because they're not eligible for the vaccine yet. You clogged our hospitals and took away resources from those who didn't choose to get cancer or get into a car accident. This is your fault. Your freedom and liberty are not sacrosanct when they infringe upon everyone else's freedom and liberty, especially those too young to engage in your grade-school-reading-level of constitutional law. Up to the NBA. Don't think OSHA have jurisdiction to regulate the safety of professional sports players due to their special relationship (contracts) with their employers. They aren't typical employee.

The poster I responded to presented the hypothetical that one would need a vaccine just to get on an airplane. I assume he would take that as government overreach, but I will wait for him to explain. My question back to him is that we all have to have an ID to board an airplane. So, the government forces people to present an ID in order to fly. Is that an overreach? And...you're asking the wrong person about voter ID. I have no problem with it considering we all had to register. So...at the very least one should have to present their voter registration card. Is requiring or not requiring it overreach. I don't see it.
