Newsom has been running lots of ads defining the leading Republican (without naming Elder) candidate as an anti-vaccer, anti-science, climate change denier, etc. W the Tx abortion law, coupled w the SCUS decision not to block it, getting immense attention, i can see new Newsom-sponsored ads tying Elder to his previous anti-women comments / stance. in So Calif, it feels that Newsom will survive the recall election. According to political betting website PredictIt, Newsom's odds of staying in office after the recall election on Sept. 14, reached their highest mark last week since early July. On Thursday, a bet on a successful recall (meaning a wager that Newsom would be ousted) costs 10 cents on PredictIt, down from 26 cents a week earlier and a high of 34 cents in early August. As of Sunday, the price had risen slightly to 14 cents.\ Recent polls show that Newsom has a 58% chance of surviving the recall
