It was really dumb for the media to lie about Rogan was taking horse dewormer, how are they going to call him out for disinformation when they are clearly lying in a bad way, whom amongst his fans are they going to steer away from his message with such a blatantly bad game plan. People already don’t trust the media enough, so maybe don’t make obvious lies about really influential celebrities, they are just giving him credibility, and ruining their own by doing so.

I'm not bothered by things that aren't true. Fauci didn't kill gay men in the 80s, even if one is of the opinion that he somehow stood in the way of more rapid progress on HIV treatments. I didn't say that I think that this drug is not effective. I just don't know if it's effective. There had been some anecdotal and mediocre quality studies saying that it works. There has been other studies saying that it doesn't. There hasn't been enough high quality study to sway me one way or the other. The bar of evidence is different depending on what the situation is. If someone is dying and not responding well to conventional treatments, go ahead and pump the patient with all drugs, even it it's not completely proven. There is very little risk since the patient is already dying and the potential benefit is huge (gets to live). Any foreseen or unforeseen side effects is better than death. However, a drug would have to have overwhelming evidence of efficacy and safety before I would take it prophylactically. Since I am currently healthy, any side effects would make me worse off than I was before. Without the proof of efficacy, I would be balancing the risk of the side effects with a possibility of benefits. The vaccines have proven to be extremely effective and extremely safe. So I feel comfortable taking the vaccines prophylactically. Ivermectin has yet to reach that threshold. If I would to come down with covid. I would first try to receive the monoclonal antibody treatment since there has been studies that show that it is proven effective and most likely safe. And if a trusted doctor believes ivermectin wouldn't hurt and could possibly help, then I'd take that too. Throw the whole kitchen sink at me if that's what the doctor believes would give me the best outcome. I understand why the public health and most of the medical community is so wary of ivermectin as covid treatment. It's the idea of 'do no harm'. Safety comes first. There hasn't been enough evidence on the efficacy of ivermectin and not enough study on side effects of prophylactical taking the very high ivermectin dosages I've seen being prescribed on the internet.
I don't understand the point here. Is someone trying to hold Rogan legally liable for dumb people overdosing on Ivermectin? Rogan's statements could have the effect of promoting Ivermectin and other unproven treatments while discouraging people from getting vaccines, even if he can't be held responsible for it in a court of law. The original topic was the prospects of Rogan suing CNN for defamation, because they made misleading statements that he ingested livestock dewormer. From the quote I've seen, I'm doubtful such a lawsuit would be successful.

A very thoughtful reply. I wish others in here would be open to a free discussion about Ivermectin or any other therapies that can help us fight against this pandemic. Unfortunately, many in here chose to clown this drug or any other therapeutic possibilities. It is a shame basically when you think about it.
Here is some facts about Fauci maybe you have missed in the 80s. Many people with AIDS came down with PCP which eventually took their lives. Bactrim was prescribed at the time for PCP by many doctors and have shown success. Fauci refused to endorse the drug and even went as far as telling AIDS patients to stop taking it. You don’t have to take my words for it, the facts about Fauci and the AIDS crisis are still out there, not sure for how long before they will scrub everything to protect the Keebler Elf. Choosing not to provide endorsement without research data to back it up isn't willful misconduct. Blocking such research or falsifying the results would be. Making up evidence to promote alternative treatments would be. I do find it strange that you would take try to make this argument, while not also placing blame on the thousands of people who have died this year due to refusal from Republicans to strongly endorse vaccines. Do you think the evidence for Bactrim at that time was stronger than the evidence for COVID vaccines today?

We are probably past the point of further clinical studies. I think all of the clinical studies are for treatment, not prevention. FDA has not removed it as a treatment option but isn't endorsing it either. These crazies are taking it as prevention of covid instead of covid vaccines that have gone through the process for EUA and approval.
