I mean based on those stats he should be used as a "opener" like Tampa Bay does. 3 innings, once through the order and then done. I don't recall Dusty ever trying that over the past few years though.
Is this dude serious? He’s giving off Mike Fiers like vibes. If he would’ve been left in the game… we would’ve lost. Period. I’ve literally seen Dusty try to leave him in games longer, to give him a chance to extend out. It just never works. It’s no one else’s fault that he signed late into spring training. Dude should be thankful we won the game. I can’t stand that selfish bullshit
During the interview, he did. Just an awkward interview and he was clearly wanting to go longer. Chandler Rome kept pushing it, so that made it more awkward. Guessing Dusty is gonna leave him in next time he's getting hit hard as that seems like a Dusty move.
I'm sure J. O. is a nice guy and all, but I have seen all I want to see of him pitching for this team. Trade him for a bag of donuts, I don't care. You have five pretty good arms in the rotation without J. O. already, so what's the point? You're not throwing him out there in the postseason, hell, he probably won't even be on the postseason roster, so just cut bait and move on.
Odorizzi's attitude is pathetic, but I kind of get it. He's by far the worst starting pitcher on a team that has at least 6 starting pitchers.
Odorizzi now needs to be pulled from the starting rotation. Greinke should be back just in time to take his next start and Urquidy is back in the rotation that ultimately replaces Odorizzi. I'm done with him, you don't throw your manager under the bus like that, that stays strictly in house. I'll be more than happy if that is the very last time we ever see Odorizzi pitch for the Astros.
This is kinda funny, but it’s also a little disconcerting in that it indicates the FO, Dusty, and the players are not on the same page. Another sign of dysfunction.
Chandler Rome is the absolute worst. But, I get on here to read the reactions, super pumped about the W, and I have to read about Odorizzi being pissed off, in a game where we came back from 2-4 in the 9th? To win in Extras? AND YOU'RE POPPING OFF ABOUT BEING PULLED??????? I didn't realize he was pulled at 66 pitches, but go kick rocks Jake. WTF.
No, the Texans with Obrien and Easterby both running the show were dysfunctional. This team isn't that, but they aren't always moving in the same direction. Great W last night. Time to build on that.
