You shouldn’t if you’ve played organized ball in America. It’s an aesthetic difference. 44 is a role player’s number.

Pete Maravich, Jerry West and George Gervin lead me to believe that you are wrong.

    eta:

Drazen Petrovich, Derrick Coleman, Sam Perkins, Adrian Dantley...

    and Brian Scalabrine

You proved my point since you had to go back 40 years to find stars that wear 44…

I don't give a **** about whatever point or who wears what numbers, I'll leave the "aesthetic value" to you and whoever else cares.

GameCube Nintendo 5 percent tint so you cant...

If he gets two number 4s it will empower him greater than Danuel House. Estimated rating over 9000

    44 is clunky

Doncic wears 77. Makes him look fat

Yes, I played football and basketball. My basketball numbers when I had a choice were always 44 or 7, hence my affection for that number. When I was a squadron commander I was #7 and my son was able to play and was #77. Great memory because we won the Base Championship. So I'm definitely reflecting on my experience and projecting a bit on JG's number choice. but as a fan I'd buy a 44 jersey while I wouldn't buy a 0 jersey for JG.

Hence the reason I did the poll to see how others felt.

Okay, so aesthetically what do you think would be the absolute worst number choice for a player to make? Like, you just look at the guy and automatically think "man, that guy with the super clunky number must really suck."

    57?

    83?

    44?

pretty sure the best way to effect this radical change in the world is to stand outside Toyota Center holding a sign advocating your desired outcome

In fairness, the number issue is kind of important because it definitely would keep me from ordering a JG shirt for me or my kids, so I imagine the Rockets must be having internal discussions on it as a potential impact to revenue.

I would prefer 0 to 44 if I were in his shoes. But, alas, I'm not Jalen Green. Guards wearing lower numbers makes more sense to me (similar to a quarterback I guess). Centers should wear bigger numbers because they're physically bigger (or at least thiccer, ala Chuck Hayes).

Maravich wore 44 and was about JG's size/build; needless to say he was a magician with the ball and far from clunky in any fashion.

I realize I'm going back in time when many of you weren't born, but JG's shorter shorts remind me of that time. Nostalgia sells when you look at sports and numbers are important as you said in your other post when folks consider making a jersey purchase.

I mean, the greatest of all time Hakeem Olajuwon wore #34, which is almost the same as 44.
