Band of Brothers is one of the best things ever presented on TV. Still holds up. My dad had never seen it actually and he was visiting over Labor Day weekend. Ended up binge watching the first 4 episodes with him during that marathon.

On Apple TV+ I don't want another streaming service.

I've watched the entire series 4 times. I usually give it a few years in between binge watches. It's just so good. Greatest Generation.

I used to think that, now I think they were great in some areas - and really poor in others - racism for instance.

Well, yes. They weren't the "perfect generation." They just dealt with things I can't imagine. And it's in direct relation to the war and the depression -- of which none of us have lived through anything remotely similar. Our worst days equate to some of their best days, on an individual level.

Yeah, the war on the depression, where we had leadership pulling us out of the hole - FDR style.

But the real way out was the manufacturing ramp up for WW2 - unfortunately we never spooled down the military industrial complex, like Ike warned us to do, and our economy is driven by war.
