. True, Harden lost. No Western Conference star delivered vs the Warriors for five years. Golden St. wouldn't let them.
I think this post is probably the most spot on overview of the whole Harden choking debate... Its sort of weird that Harden only fans treat their boy with such little respect and their excuse is literally "no one was beating GSW".... I mean, do they even realize that they are pretty much arguing against Harden? I don't even wish Harden bad, in the Brooklyn series vs Bucks I was genuinely hoping Harden would take over... I still want him to, I still believe he can but its been a long time saying "next year" even for me a so called Harden hater..... Harden is an incredible regular season player, possibly the best regular season player of all time, if he played the same in important games I'd put him top 3 all time.... He is that good, in the regular season...
That's the problem with Gimmick basketball. It works for a franchise running on a budget. It maximizes the usage of the one or two good players you can actually afford. It sucks but that is life as a fan of a team with a poor owner.
Your personal most hated one is some KD out of bounds in the regular season and not what went down in game 7? Really? C’mon man… they absolutely do…2 of those misses from that 2-13 from 3 in game 7 were due to blatant uncalled fouls by Jordan Bell…what should’ve been 6 free throw attempts turns into 2 missed threes on the stat sheet…if these were Harden flops or 50/50 fouls, then it is what it is, but they weren’t, they were blatant missed calls due to rigging then the 4 point play was taken away…that’s 10 potential points taken away due to rigging So let’s say Harden was 3-11 from 3 instead of 2-13. Is that a good percentage from deep? Hell no, but that 3-11 would’ve came with 7 free throw attempts as well. Those 10 potential points matter when u are in a game 7 and that overmatched to begin with. The one where EG went to the rim and got bodied by 2 dudes with no call. That wasn’t EG’s usual stumbling and fumbling to the rim and then screaming with his hands in the air. That’s another 2 free throw attempts rigged away. Some of those non-calls led immediately to GS buckets on the other end just compounding the issue. How much extra help did 4 All-Stars need? and not sure why you’re talking about San Antonio when I made no reference to them…we all know game 6 was a gag
You keep saying West, there is a whole other conference you are leaving out... A weaker one at that, but okay.... I'll play along... He was never going to beat GSW.... Next year he got bounced by GSW again, the following year in the bubble vs Lakers.... Harden from the 3pt line went, 3-6 Good 4-8 Good 4-9 Good 1-6 Choke And ended game 5 2-8!!!!! His +/- was awful! I guess The Lakers were also the best team to ever play and Harden had no chance because no one was beating The Lakers in the bubble... A convenient excuse that can be recycled every year, I guess The Bucks are also the best team ever composed and Harden never had a chance either... By your argument, Harden is not a superstar.... Just a role player.... I disagree, Harden is a generational talent that for some reason comes up short time and time again... Bad luck? Maybe.... Or Maybe he just isn't it when the lights are shining bright...
The Warriors were better than the Rockets the following year too. And a healthy Lebron & AD got it done vs small ball. Am I missing something? The better team won. Again. They won the chip too. Let me guess, Harden is better than Lebron? LOL!!!!!! But hey, he beat the mighty hamstring CP3 in a series, again. Harden ain't superman dude, the Rockets have to build a champion & not blame one guy for losing. That's the point of all of this.
I'm not saying refs did not call the games unfairly, they did.... Absolutely, but I can't give credit to Harden for calls that never happened in his favor... Even if they were blatant, and I agree they were.... I think they even waived a 3 from Harden.... I think despite the missed calls Harden had some big shots that he missed, flat out....
damn man.. once again, nobody is ignoring the cheating that went down in games 6 and 7.. sheesh.. a Harden only will internalize any criticism of their one and only as hate. I haven't said Harden choked, all I have said is I believe Harden could have done more to win a VERY difficult game without CP3. Harden seems to always play like there is always tomorrow. when you factor in the amount of rigging it took in those games for the Rockets to lose by a couple baskets, YES, a couple easy midrange shots that were pretty much automatic in Harden's game could have been the difference. Cp3's midrange in winning time is usually the difference. Harden could have replicated that easily. all those non called fouls some of which were Harden trying to get a call from a corrupt ref, were turnovers.. Imagine instead a step back turn around 2 in the paint.
u seem to think that people think Harden was perfect in game 7 or something it is ridiculous to claim Harden “choked” in game 7 when going against 4 All-Stars by himself and the blatant rig job that occurred… rig job so bad the TNT announcers were shocked and wondering what was going on…that’s how bad it was 9 point loss with 10 potential points taken away from just Harden alone…not to mention that non-call on EG and some of the blatant uncalled moving screens that led to GS threes…
I guess I'm the Harden fan since for years I felt Harden was the best player in the league... Better than LeBron and better than Durant... Even in the current day I think an argument can be made, my only problem with Harden is that he comes up short in big moments and if he did not I 100% put him over anyone in the league for the past 5 years.... I'm not blaming Harden for Rockets losing, I'm saying Harden does not rise to the occasion when his teams need him...
I think players like EG and Ariza could have done more on offense if given the chance, especially with a passer like Harden.
So Harden could not have won that game 7? Impossible... Via either rig job, or how good GSW was.... Harden was not leading Houston to a win.. Is that what you are sticking to?
if he went out and dropped 45 then yeah, he could’ve overcome that rig job, but I’m not about to kill someone for not dropping 45 in game 7 going up against 4 All-Stars and 3 crooked refs with his 2nd best player being EG…
didn’t leroids get swept right after this game? thought he was supposed to be tha goat lol. but but bearded bro coulda done so much more why he no win for us
So he was capable but fell short, and if CP3 does not go down it gave Rockets a better chance to win either game 6 or 7.... Looks like we agree, Harden choked and CP3 was the true leader Houston needed... I knew you would see the truth...
It took a superhuman effort by LeBron James (and the clutchest 3 by Kyrie) to come back and beat the Warriors. And then it took Klay and Durant going down for the Raptors to win - and even then, they had Kawhi Leonard, with people anointing him one of the best players in basketball...at least for that season. Warriors easily could have 5-peated, instead of only winning 3 out of 5. Your takes are the worst I've seen on CF in a while, and that's saying something. From the "NBA players refusing vaccines" thread to this one, I haven't seen such pure badness in a while. You said you're not against the vaccine yet you keep trying to steer people away from it by recommending other, less proven things. You say you've been a Harden fan "for years," yet you're one of the biggest Harden haters on this site. Why do people take you seriously? Baffling.
If our other superstar player didn’t go down it would’ve given us a better chance? Yeah, no sh*t Harden choking game 7 is the narrative bitter exes desperately want to run with
It's the last thing Harden haters will mention, because it absolutely defends him. And to your point, it IS overlooked - so much so that before it was brought up, Salvy and other Harden haters didn't mention it once.
got swept losing his final game by 23 points, and got beat down in 5 the year before Lebron only won 1 game against the KD Warriors in the playoffs, and it took his team hitting 24 threes and Kyrie dropping 40 in order to do so dudes bringing up Giannis against the Suns like it compares
