lol if he were on lakers or gsw he would be praised to high heavens and all cf would wonder how come we never get such gems and there would be threads all over cf with polls asking what package of picks and players rockets should offer alongside jalen green to trade for wood

I'm sure that Stone won't let go of a high quality 7ft PF/C when the opportunity presents itself.

To me Alperen Sengun Big Body easily moving Big Centers and Taller Skinny Centers like Evan Mobley out of the way for Rebounds.

Alperen Sengun is very tough and is very physical unlike P. J Tucker at Center, Kelly Olynek.

Morey is entertaining but so far Stone is more effective. The show over in Philly now with Simmons has DM written all over it. When he was here we couldn’t keep more than one super star happy at a time. Players turning on one another and demanding trades. Cutting the trade return in half.

I personally like the idea of the GM being a behind the scenes puppets master role. Stone quickly changed what didn’t work and gave us something to cheer for in less than a year. We have exactly what any fan wants. Growth and potential along with some kind of veteranish leadership at every position on the team. Even the coaching staff has younger up coming coaches.

    So yes Darrel is gone…

    and we are taller, too

We weren't that good on purpose and it paid off. We are now one of the most talented young teams in the nba

Get Yao Ming out of retirement. We need a 7'6 dude.

It was not just Wood. Wall and Gordon both missed over 40 games out of 72. If all top 3 players in the team are injured then the team is going to lose bad by default. People give Christian Wood really hard time here for some odd reason even though he is simply not been surrounded by quality players or healthy players. He was so excited to play along side Harden for a change compared to playing in Detroit but that too did not work out and team went for a complete rebuild. Hes just been in unfortunate situations besides injuries

Wall was not playing back to back games, Boogie was playing on one leg and not even considering Nwaba and Brown were out for long periods too. They had to bring up G-league players to fill out the roster.

However, some posters still think you should compete with an undermanned roster. If AD and LeBron couldn't do it, how could Wood?

Rockets and playoffs are not a thing. They are much closer to getting the 1st overall pick then playoffs. Also which NBA team has won a championship recently with a all star seven foot center? Mostly teams have won with a servicible big man which is something you can pick up when you are ready to contend.

If you want to draw a couple conclusions from Stone's aggregate of moves thus far, I would say the first one is, he likes to draft 19yr olds. Or at least, youth matters.

The second one is that height and length also matter more to him than it did to Morey. We don't have a single short person on the team anymore. Gordon is the shortest at 6'3, and then when he and Wall are gone it'll be probably Tate at 6'4 (he's listed at 6'5 but we all know). Other than that, he's gone out and gotten KPJ, KMJ, Green, Christopher, Garuba, Sengun; he's re-signed Nwaba over Brown. Focusing on 7-footers I think is besides the point, because there just aren't many of them who are coordinated and skilled enough to play at the highest level. Compared to the Morey all-midget team era, we have some serious length now. Stone definitely has a body type he prefers; he's not all the way out there like Presti where the whole team is made up of Marfanoids, but Stone is definitely headed towards the ideal of positionless basketball.

Why though? Wanna get in the play in for the chance to get stomped by the Lakers? Its better to tank for Banchero bro we need all the talent we can get.

i hated his love affair with tweeners...
and I'm a firm believer in the necessity of the big man (even in 'todays NBA')
but i wouldnt push for an actual 7 footer just to make a pretty pyramid tip in the team photo...
Gimme at least a couple at 6'10+ and we're covered...

Stone is doing a great job, do you see a league trending to position-less basketball or great big men dominating the league? Stop the baseless toxic complaining.
