    I believe if they paid a lot of money to live there they feel they should at least not be witnessing bank tellers being hacked to death in the middle of the day

    same with anyone who can afford a house and pay real taxes

    Hi folks. Chicago resident here (6 years) after 25 years in houston. I live just outside of Rivernorth. this is some sensationalized bullshit. Is there crime, sure, but no more than Houston.

    Nice. River North resident since 2012 here (also from Houston, 20+ years)

    While yes I agree most is sensationalized, River North has become a lot more sketch as of late. Especially State/Hubbard area which always has been somewhat seedy. (Chicago Red Line McDonalds also). Just a lot of random assaults, robberies, car jackings...etc. Its higher than previous years. 2016 Was the worst year before this year in the 10 years Ive been here.

    What corner streets are you on? I am at Dearborn and Huron. Near the Whole Foods.

    Chicago is an amazing city that deserves so much better. Politicians, budget and the deep segregated history is just such a black eye for this city that had it not had those issues so deep rooted it would be the best city in North America without question.

    If anyone has questions about Chicago ask away.
