Thanks for sharing, my favorite current Rocket. An underrated part of the near future. He singlehandedly made a few games worth watching last year.
Tate is very underrated. Will be worth $15m per year soon if he keeps the shooting up. Hell of a winning player, better than Tucker's highest potential imo.
LOVE rooting for underdog stories. Makes it so much more satisfying to see them succeed and prosper. Hope he has a long career and makes a bunch of money!
I see where you're trying to get at but can't compare his situation to Wood who is wanting a max for being a second or third tier star (before our stars peak). Not saying I am all for trading Wood but there's logic behind trading high when we likely won't meet his demands come new contract times
hmm i am all for giving wood max contract...hes our only player with allstar production...the stardom of other guys is questionable.... its absurd to trade wood when hes exactly the type of player youre hoping your stars will develop into...so you are basically punishing both him and the rockets(and fans) for being far ahead on schedule...lololol SMH
It's not really a factor, all the other guys we may max out are on team-controlled contracts. Will be able to go above the cap to re-sign them. Honestly, I too am finding it weird how itchy people are to trade Wood. He's such a liquid asset, could trade him within hours of a decision. I'd argue trading him any time prior to the few weeks before the deadline is flat out negligent. This guy has less than 100 games under his belt so his learning curve is likely to be delayed, we are likely to continue to see strides in his development. We won't get optimal value for him till he's put together a more healthy season too. I think this guy's going to improve his defense and physical conditioning. I think there is no need to panic if the most likely scenario is that he's going to be worth $25m+ anyway. Overpaying someone by $5m is not worse than losing a legit 2nd/3rd star over $5m.
CF: give me pie in the sky future 1st round picks instead, that may never come close to being a caliber of player that Wood is right now!
True. In 8 years he will be 33. At that time he will be dog water. Besides teams are known for lasting at least 12 years or so together.
