The press hasn't really been all that friendly too him on Afghanistan.... even the left wing hack CNN has gone at him hard. Truth be told, if this is the "bad patch" for Biden, then he is doing extremely well..... his concern should be that there are a lot of problems hanging over his head, from COVID to social issues, to the financial relief packages expiring....etc. If this is still a problem in 60 days then he should be more concerned, but a 46% approval rating in September after all the negative press he has received and the poor initial execution of the pull out isn't really that bad at all from an electoral standpoint. Lets see if he can pivot and get the press to go along with it.
some observers have noted the NY Times is returning to its normal status of Official State Media Democratic Party Defender™ https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/09/when-the-new-york-times-is-back-in-your-corner2.php https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/09/when-the-new-york-times-has-moved-on.php
We've had a week of the MSM criticizing Biden. Joe Scaraborough was all but calling him a "Traitor!" yet now we're back to the old narrative that the MSM is a wing of the Democratic party.
Biden's bad polls are the new normal https://theweek.com/politics/1004508/bidens-polling-continues-to-slide
Congress Moves to Increase Pentagon Budget, Defying Biden and Liberals More than a dozen Democrats on a key panel broke ranks to endorse a $24 billion increase to military spending above what President Biden had requested. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/02/us/politics/congress-pentagon-budget-biden.html excerpt Fourteen Democrats joined Republicans to support the measure, several of them facing tough re-election battles next year in conservative-leaning districts. The lopsided vote underscored another reality: Even as the hard-charging liberal bloc of lawmakers pledging to cut military spending continues to grow in the House, it is often more hawkish members who populate the national security committees with the mandate to shape foreign policy. Progressives who had already chafed at the cost of Mr. Biden’s budget were livid. “It’s remarkable to me that as we end our long and expensive campaign in Afghanistan, so many are concluding that what we need is more war, more weapons and billions of dollars more than even what the Pentagon is asking for,” said Representative Sara Jacobs, Democrat of California and a former State Department official. more
After years of heeding the "Big Lie" from the biggest liar and Fox, it seems like some folks here are just not used to the media covering presidential actions. Now the same sources they castigated for reporting about the dip$hit are heralded for reporting in exactly the same manner over Biden. Unless of course, he does something good.
Or perhaps, just perhaps, such opinion polls are not as driven by "the mainstream press" and instead, people responding honestly and pretty accurately? It would sure blow a hole in retrumplican core belief that trump wasn't the one of the most wretched presidents of all time and it was all fake media. I know, "orange man bad", TDS and "whataboutrumpism" aside, polling is just that. Polls. Some can be manipulated (like rasmussen and any polls favored by occupydemocrats), but most probably accurate people's feelings at any point in time. And with all the reporting on Afghanistan I am sure the public is down on Biden. But "whataouttrumpism" coming, anyone that defended trump the last four years now celebrating Biden's polling is well, funny. Enjoy your time as I suspect the pendulum will swing back as people focus more on their day to day concerns (jobs, the economy, health concerns).
Roll with that. No reason to celebrate anything right now. Just hoping we can get out of this pandemic at some point. Elections arent a priority.
NATO pays it's fair share now apparently. We got out of Afghanistan. Still need to massively increase defense budget. Got to love it. I'm honestly still trying to figure out what the point of NATo countries "playing their fair share" was. I sincerely thought it was to save money on our end.
How Has Joe Biden Become So Unpopular? https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/04/opinion/biden-job-approval-rating.html
Homie about to run out of stimmy money to boost his numbers. Maybe these gais are too unemployed to care about what Biden isn't doing...
