My neighbor wants to throw a shindig for his son's birthday, and he's looking for some bugs. My usual connections are all booked out. Does anyone know of a good place to get some nice sized, pre-washed crawfish? Thanks.......
If you were in Arkansas, yes. You can order online here: http://www.lacrawfish.com/ http://www.klcrawfishfarms.com/placeorder/
I go to a place under the bridge near Kema...I wish I knew the name of the place! I will look into it. Nice little Asian lady.
Well the places I gave online are in Louisiana and they have some pretty good deals, like the 30 lb party package that comes with crawfish, seasoning, recipes, instructions, beads, and balloons.
That's probably where I will go. I work down towards Galveston, so I'll probably try to find something south and outside the loop.....unless I get desparate.
That's cool Lil Pun, but I use my own spice mix, I haven't needed instructions for close to twenty years, I've got an attic full of beads and other throws and as for balloons.....well......I've got some old condoms.
Any vietnamese supermarket with a seafood section. Saigon Supermarket on beechnut usually has them if you're in Houston.
No need to head out to Kemah unless you are already down south. I would check out Hong Kong market at Bellaire and Boone. The Fiesta markets have also been advertising live crawfish by the 30 lb sack lately.
i didn't even know they had plate lunches!!!! do tell! what do you usually get there?? what do they offer? i can literally see it from my office.
Thanks guys. One of my connections finally called back, so I'm all set. ...and it's a good connection. Their bugs are so clean you don't even have to wash them.
There is one place called Cajun Gourmet. They provide crawfish to all the Pappa's chains and these suckers are huge and cheap. I think it's btw 1-2 dollars per lb. They bring them in from Louisiana so you have to order in bulk. 30lb minimum I believe. Biggest crawfish I've ever seen.
all the asian markets in that area are a great source for all kinds of seafood. however, that's about the only good thing i can say about alief.
I'm sworn to secrecy on the one place I'm getting them. They're a small time operation and way out in the boonies. My second choice though is C&C in Alvin.
So I ask the Mom what she wants for Mother's Day, she says "get your brother and sister-in-law to come over and have a crawfish boil Sunday." DONE. Yay Mom. If anyone in the Austin area ever wants some, these guys are super cool and high quality, I'm a repeat customer: https://louisianawild.com/
My recommendation. Used them in 2004 as well. https://www.boydsonestop.com/reservations https://www.boydsonestop.com/
