Dusty is not the right manager for this team. Dusty seem high strung most of the time, while the Astros core players are more used to playing loose but tenaciously. I think Dusty would have been an ideal manager on the Bagwell/Biggio teams. They had that salty personality that would thrive with a Dusty Baker manager. He's seems like a cool dude, but he isn't what is going to get this group of guys to rise above the cream.
Perhaps not, but Dusty isn't the reason we score zero runs or get owned by inferior players and teams.
Well Dodgers just overtook the Giants for first place. They might be on their way to a vindicating 2 peat while the Astros are looking like pretenders rather than contenders.
Every series seems like a new season for this team. In some, we look like pretenders, others contenders. I still feel like our first round playoff series will go the same. We could sweep the other team or get swept by them. Niether outcome would shock me.
An idiot usually, but right in this instance once said, "No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." The Astros are 34-11 in the games that make up the difference.
