I'm otherwise all about grabbing picks... but along the way opportunities present themselves... that might fit in well with what we're doing..We'd still be rebuilding.

I get that there are multiple reasons why you don't want anything to do with him.

Big overlay here though... not unlike with KPjr...
It IS a much bigger bet, but there's blood in the streets in Philly.
Perhaps it's an unnecessary risk at this juncture.

76ers need a PG, give them Wall. Their ideal PG.

That won't get it done without a TON of picks attached and I don't want to do that.

It’s hilarious how many on this board expect Simmons to radically improve because he’s “only 24” while also arguing that Wood “is what he is” at 25.

Why would the rockets trade for Simmons. 0 reason to

folks need to stop blaming everything around him for Simmons being who he is. It’s ridiculous. They aren’t the problem. He is. The real problem is he refuses to accept that and do something about it

I would. I think this is a place where a guy like simmons can come in and put up some numbers up with zero pressure.

    Build him up
    Trade
    ??
    Profit

    Straight up for Wall, sure.

People raggin on Simmons right now but dude is still a 3x all-star and exceptional defender. He pizza'd when he should've french fry'd last season.

I couldn’t careless. On a team like the rockets he’d be exposed and nothing special. Wood is easily the better choice of the two, not only in value but money as well

The only reason I'd do this is if Wall was going to the 76ers somehow.

Wood is our most consistent big man and can score from anywhere. Simmons...can't.

Wood for Simmons means we'd have an abundance of playmakers and not enough quality big men. AND we'd still have the albatross that is John Wall's contract.

I don't get the fascination with Ben Simmons. He is not worth the max on this team. This team is atleast 1 year away from needing aax player and cwoods with picks might be the tool to get that in the future. For now they need to get a top 5 pick and add another young player in next year's draft while developing green, kpj, Seguin, garuba, kpj, Tate, jc

    I would not

Before Porter Jr and now Green I would have said yes. Simmons needs to be the
    #1 facilitator on a team.

Simmons would be a great PnR Roll-Man but he thinks he is the main ball handler
in a PnR set. This presents a problem when our other facilitators run PnR and Simmons
goes rogue and doesn't want to be the screener.

Because Simmons can't shoot, we would have to place Simmons on the baseline
behind the rim, at that dunker spot, for spacing. That role is limited since the baseline
acts as a defender and the paint has a 3 second restriction (which can also act as a
    defender in a sense).

Putting Simmons on the 3-point line is futile. No one takes that seriously.
His defender drops off of him and will clog the lane for Porter Jr, Green and
Eric Gordon or any player trying to facilitate.

The NBA has become all about spacing; but I believe you can still have one
player on the court that can't shoot 3's and still win a championship.

I love the Simmons defense, but if this cat is not willing to set screens
everywhere and for all others on the offensive side, then there is no
    place for him.

He is ideally perfect for Pelicans or T-Wolves or Raptors (push Van Vleet from #1 opt)
or Indiana or Washington or OKC or Spurs (push Murray back) or some bottom dweller
team that needs Simmons with the ball in his hands almost every play.....if he is not
    willing to set mucho screens.

I voted for the Philly package in the other thread and was admittingly wrong. I just don't think Simmons is that guy. His attitude/work ethic is a complete red flag despite the tantalizing point center possibilities.

If Stone wants to be predatory and be part of a multi team deal then that'd be cool. Maybe move Wood and Gordon and get back a mid-late FRP, Moses Moody, and good, short contracts. Or Andrew Wiggins, Moody, and FRP type of deal. Wiggins would be another expiring contact after this season.

I could be maybe talked into something involving Simmons and John Wall. I'm very much in the "no shame 2021-2023 rebuild" and Simmons would derail that. We could be a Simmons pit stop while a better package becomes available but that could fall apart if Simmons falls off.
