Well at least you guys in the central and east time zones didnt have to stay up to midnight to watch that dumpster fire.
Anyone who still thinks this team will even make it to World Series this year is fooling themselves. Back to back shut out games at almost full strength by Seattle? Something is lost with this team and their hearts just aren't in it.
They do look beat down a bit and it is August however who is the fire on this team these days? Is it CC? Bregs? Not that it would matter right now I just want to know who that guy is.
So, in the last 2 games, from both the teams... The only batter to drive in runs was the guy we traded out and the only pitchers to give up the runs are the ones we traded for
Yeah that’s what makes this worse and they kept showing him smiling all over the field at the end. Why would AT&T do that ! F Toro !!!!
I logged on to check the score and I see the Astros were facing a rookie pitcher with an ERA over 5 who had given up 14 runs in his last two games. Of course they lost 1-0 despite outhitting the Mariners 9-3 and wasting one of Odorizzi’s few good starts.
I’m hoping they will peak in time for the playoffs but right now they look like they are playing in slow motion.
This team has spoiled us the past few years with 100 plus win seasons. This team is good but not that good or consistent. Baker in the postseason is a concern as well. Anything can happen in the postseason and this team has tons of postseason experience so just hoping for the best. Not really trying to get too high or too low on this team at this point.
Sucks but I have to agree. They seem so low energy like something is missing. Baker needs to go, obviously. Yet I think thats only part of it.
I think the cheating scandal has a ton to do with it. It took that little extra edge off this team that helped get to the WS twice. Getting booed constantly has got to play a toll. I hate Correa for leaving after this year and have already checked out on him now as I don't even care if he stays healthy for us anymore. But I don't blame him for leaving. The only way the Astros are going to get through this scandal is not through time but through the process of elimination of the 2017 holdovers. I don't want to lose Altuve by any means, but I think he's no longer the player he was. We will still put Regular season wins on the board but you need MAGIC to win in the post season.
Reading the post game reactions is kind of hilarious. It’s a 162 game season. It happens. I swear it’s like people have never watched baseball before.
