I don't know why it wasn't blown up... Unless it was negotiated in the withdrawal terms.

They don't necessarily have to use the >10 billion gear. Could probably sell half and use a quarter as a trophy for local warlords

    LOL...no its not.

and theres plenty of blame to go around to the last four administrations. biden has totally f***ed up the withdrawal, but that doesnt mean trump doesnt bear some blame for his poor handling of afghanistan and his failure to get us out of there after he campaigned on doing just that.

and it also doesnt mean its totally hypocritical for trumpers to complain about biden being disrespectful towards marine families while not even being able to accept the fact that trump himself slandered POWs and gold star mothers.

im not sure how you think im being partisan when ive been critical of multiple administrations...you on the other hand seem to only want to criticize dems while giving trump a pass. good example being biden and trump being disrespectful towards families of fallen marines...ive been critical of both of them while you only criticize biden and cant even bring yourself to acknowledge that trump insulted POWs and gold star mothers. thats partisanship 101.

I've said at least three times now that if DJT disrespected POWs and Gold Star mothers than that is despicable and shameful. I don't know why you are belaboring this point.

because you keep qualifying it with "if" he disrespected POWs and gold star mothers. using "if" implies that you dont know that he actually did those things.

No one talks about pulling out of Vietnam as a success. Necessary maybe...as necessary as pulling out a knife in the gut.

What happens next is all on his watch.

But the messy end to the Afghan conflict, the Americans left behind when the US airlift ended and the geopolitical and national security implications of an anarchic failed state teeming with radicals mean that moving on will be far more complicated than declaring the two-decades-long conflict over.”

Most arm chair generals here also don't know how terribly expensive it is to transport this equipment.

Leaving behind equipment has been a routine thing for every conflict.

This was nothing more than partisan outrage

WASHINGTON — More than 120,000 people of all nationalities were evacuated from the Kabul airport as the U.S. military withdrew, but initial figures suggest that only about 8,500 of those who left Afghanistan in recent months were Afghans, according to numbers released by the Biden administration and estimates from advocates.

That is a small percentage of the tens of thousands of Afghans who worked for the U.S. government or U.S. organizations and applied for special U.S. visas, and an even smaller percentage of the Afghans eligible to apply.

A small fraction of America's Afghan allies made it out of Afghanistan (nbcnews.com)

More than 30 California children still stuck in Afghanistan (foxla.com)

SAN DIEGO - More than 30 California children are stuck in Afghanistan after they traveled to the country to see their relatives weeks before the Taliban seized power and were unable to get out before U.S. forces left, according to school districts where the kids are enrolled.

Officials with three school districts — one in the San Diego area and two in Sacramento — said Wednesday that they have been in contact with the families who fear they have been forgotten by the U.S. government. The officials said that some of the children were born in the United States and are U.S. citizens.
