It would sound better if he said she was hit by return fire after her boyfriend shot a police officer serving a valid warrant.
Which he didn't hear anyone announce that they were police which was also backed up by neighbors that didn't hear anyone say they were police. They didn't find any drugs and the person that they wanted was already in jail the victims ex boyfriend.
I always think I'll move back to Houston one day but then days like this make it that much harder to convince my family.
It's not that bad down here. Sure some of the laws are annoying, but overall, I love Texas. Granted, there are much more beautiful places to live at, I'm super happy to be here, despite the politics. You can't let politics ruin it for you. I do feel for those that will actually be affected such as the abortion bill.
“Star Spangled Banner Protection Act”: Professional sports teams with state funding are required to play the national anthem before games under SB 4. I guess we should make sure they sing ALL THE VERSES Complete version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" showing spelling and punctuation from Francis Scott Key's manuscript in the Maryland Historical Society collection. O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, 'Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In God is our trust," And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. Only thing offensive about any of this is the total count being 666. But the new laws themselves seems to ring the bell of common sense, reasonableness, and decency. Legislature did a great job. I can see why libs would hate it though.
Punishing cities who cut police budgets: If municipalities with a population of more than 250,000 reduce their police budget, HB 1900 allows the state to financially punish the cities by reducing sales tax revenues and preventing increases in property taxes. Have to make sure the Hick Towns are Exempt Rocket River
What's so wrong about 666? You guys take the Bible to literal. Giving anyone the ability to sue an individual that wants to have an abortion is not "common sense", it is not "reasonableness", and it is not "decency" considering that there is no ****ing exception for incest or rape. I know, your conservative gods put these through so you are blinded even though you don't know all 666 laws (it's a sin for you to idolatrize them by the way, if you believe in the bible god). I don't know all the laws either, need to go through them.
I was citing the 666 thing in jest. It's just a group of digits in this case, it doesn't mean anything. As far as the abortion thing, I am pro-life all the way so of course I am going to be in agreement on this new law 100%. I understand however, many will think otherwise and I don't fault them for that. It just aligns with my beliefs.
(If you were curious like me…) All six hundred and sixty-six bills https://capitol.texas.gov/Reports/Report.aspx?LegSess=87R&ID=effectivesept1
"Muh fReEdOoMs" Proceeds to praise bills such as forced playing of the national anthem at sporting events. If you want to know why we think people like you are clowns, this is a great example.
I want to ask a conservative right wingers which sounds more North Korean like. 1. Requiring to play the national anthem as a law before sporting events. 2. Mask mandates during a pandemic.
It’s patriotic when we have to play a national anthem or force kids to pledge their allegiance every morning. When North Korea requires something similar it’s “what do you expect living in a socialist totalitarian government!”
I think a required trait to be a right wing conservative in America is having absolutely zero introspective skills.
There was a guy outside upstairs that said he heard them announce they were police, though he later changed his story. Certainly it is a tragedy all the way around. It is further evidence that the drug war is a bad idea. What it is not, and is nowhere close to, is the cops murdering someone while serving a warrant at the wrong house.
