Just have to say how thankful I am that Bill O’Brien isn’t here anymore because O’Brien would’ve traded Deshaun for a 2nd and 3rd rd pick.

Kudos to Caserio for standing firm and not settling(before Deshaun does).

The fact that Watson isn’t on the commissioners exempt list is pretty telling to me. I know there haven’t been any criminal charges(yet) but Goodell has the power to put Deshaun on the exempt list if he deemed it necessary.

Totally fine with us waiting til the off-season to evaluate where QB needy teams will be drafting, allow the legal issues to play out, and for the dust to settle.

The trading of Deshaun can expedite the rebuild process immensely… and I think Nick has shown that he has the balls to stare down the rest of the League and not be pressured into a lesser deal.

Well said! BDN is playing the long game and that's the difference between a GM and a Coach (acting like a GM).

“Just wait til next year. Then they’ll know the picks they’re getting.” … Will they?

“There are 22 active civil lawsuits, and depositions can begin this month. Feb. 22 is the earliest Watson's deposition could begin, and there is a pre-trial status conference in May. That means barring a settlement, this won't be resolved by the 2022 NFL Draft.

As for the criminal situation, involving 10 cases, authorities are likely weeks away from a resolution.”

Once the criminal investigation is concluded, with no charges I'm going to guess, I think it makes getting a trade done a lot easier. If a team come to Watson, a team he wants to play for, and says, look, we've agreed upon a trade, we just need you to settle these cases to make it happen, I think Watson settles.

Ask for 6 be offered 2 and settle for 4.

2 1st rounders plus 2 starting caliber players is my guess as to what the Texans will agree to.

Once the season starts all of the plans teams have in play will be tested. Some QBs will stubble or fail, others will be injured. GMs, Coaches and Owners will all contemplate what Watson could do for their team and assess the risk of pulling the trigger.

I believe Nick has set the foundation for getting a deal done. While the price seems tethered to the outcome of the 22/10 allegations; I'm really surprised this hasn't been settled and now the supposed FBI investigation against Buzbee's side throws a different look at the allegations.

It just takes one team, and with Watson healthy and ready to contribute this year--the clock starts ticking louder after today's games.

I thought that FBI allegations against Buzbee from Hardin was a joke, deflection from his camp.

I had assumed DW would be investigated by FBI or other Federal LEA because of the potential trafficking, but thought the "extortion investigation" was a different twist in this case...

    https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/deshaun-watson-fbi/285-3b4e5cae-7c8e-4b30-bac3-cf60ab2ed00d
HOUSTON — The attorney for Deshaun Watson said the FBI is investigating one of his accusers for possible extortion. Hardin also said the massage therapist known as "Jane Doe #3" later admitted that she lied in text messages to the Texans quarterback.

Hardin called a news conference Wednesday in response to comments from Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Watson's 22 accusers.

“In April, the FBI came to us and let us know they were investigating a matter as to whether one of Mr. Buzbee’s clients had committed extortion in the way they were demanding money from Deshaun, or what they would do if he didn’t pay up," Hardin said.

Hardin confirmed Buzbee's claim that the FBI is also investigating Watson and said he wasn't aware of it until Monday. He said he didn't mention the extortion investigation in the past because FBI investigations are supposed to be confidential.

In her lawsuit, "Jane Doe #3" said Watson forced her to perform oral sex during a massage in December of 2020. She claimed she blacked out from fear and now suffers from panic attacks, anxiety and depression.

But Hardin said the woman later texted Watson and apologized, telling him she wished she could take it back.

"I just want to say I apologize for my actions, that was not me, and I could take back that moment I would. I really devalued my integrity and profession. My sessions have never went like that. I feel really horrible as a person," she said via text, according to Hardin.

He said the accuser also thanked Watson immediately after the massage, and she offered to massage him again.

"Thank you for trusting me with your massage today, I’m available for another one," the text read.

Back in April, Hardin said the woman demanded $30,000 from Watson for her "indefinite silence." Hardin said her business manager admitted the sex was consensual in a recorded phone call.

Yeah I read that, it just seemed like a deflection from Hardins camp.

Such a weird situation. I firmly believe he is guilty of something but he will never get convicted and will never see a jail cell. Which means the nfl will never suspend him cuz it's all about Money and Deshaun plays a premium position. They will love his redemption story and play it up. This will all blow over at some point and Texans will probably regret the day they traded him. But honestly it seems we have no choice but to trade. What a terrible situation for the franchise that just set us back like 10 years if not more.

If we got offered 3 first and 3 thirds and didn’t take it we better get something better than that when we do trade Watson

We were already set back regardless, the moment we extended BoB/promote BoB to GM.

Imagine we had posters defending BoB still after getting ass blasted vs the chiefs in playoffs. Our moronic front office promoted him after that sht, and the rest is history.
