Wrong. I’m sure the Dolphins would pull the trigger on a Howard, Tua and 2 frp. That’s not great, but it is trade value.
“After all of this, months and months of talking, we’re still literally in the same exact spot we’ve been in for a very, very long time.” About ****ing sums it up.
The middle ground is to hold onto him until the lawsuits come to a conclusion. Then Caserio will either get what he wants in trade for Watson or Watson will be an all pro in the prison yards. I'm hoping for the second scenario to play out.
The truth is we stand to gain a lot by waiting. His legal stuff is going to get sorted one way or another, likely without league intervention or jail time. After that there's only two things that can happen... Either he and the Texans kiss and make up or he's traded for more than he's worth now.
Then we get to void his contract and it frees up a ton of cap space for the future..... and he'd gave justice for his crimes.... pretty much best case scenario
If he was going to be indicted, I think he would have by now. Remember the rumor was that a grand jury was convening a week or two ago. I think charges would have come out by now.
I’m told Dolphins coach Brian Flores just addressed his team regarding recent reports tying Miami to a possible trade for Deshaun Watson. Sources say he told players and staff that Tua Tagovailoa is “our quarterback” in a brief but poignant endorsement of the QB. This info isn’t intended to dispute recent reporting that Miami was a major player in trade discussions. Rather, it is a reflection of the moment. A coach standing in front of his team, endorsing his QB, is not the same as one navigating a press conference. So wherever it started, wherever it’s going, here’s what you can take away: Less than two weeks before the season’s start, Flores made clear to his team that Tua is indeed their quarterback, and I expect him to echo a similar sentiment in the weeks to come.
