When did Watson throw a ton of pics? 8 is what he threw his rookie year. The guy was oozing with talent and u can see the greatness in him. Mills is a backup at best. Hell he might throw 8 picks in 2 games.

Your memory is jaded. Watson has 104 TDs, 36 INTs in 4 regular seasons. 12 is the most he has thrown in a season. 9, 8, 12, and 7 are his INT totals. I want to say he is 3rd in NFL History (Mahomes is ahead of him) in TD to INT ratio after 4 seasons.
He is 5th all-time behind Mahomes, Rodgers, Wilson and Brady.

The reason he is still being talk about in trades is his numbers are crazy good.

Last season was his first season that was a great TD/Int ratio.
Last year was his only elite season.

19-9 (6 1/2 games), 26-8, 26-12, 33-7. Those numbers are 3rd best to start a career in NFL History. His numbers say otherwise about being great TD:INT ratio.

    No, in fact they don’t.
You’re having a bit of recency bias.

Advanced stats in Int %+ says he has had two below average years in int %, 1 slightly above average and one elite.

Um, you just ignore the “ the 3rd best TD:Int ratio in HISTORY to start a career and already the 5th best TD:Int ratio in NFL History for all QBs? BS in your INT percentage. A more 2 to 1 TD:INT ratio each season is not below average. Throwing less than 10 INTs in 3 of your 4 seasons and the other only had 12, is better than NFL average based on the number of attempts.

Stop with the Watson hate and give him his due in this regard.

Watson is very good at football

Watson doesn't want to be in Houston

Watson is a sketchy guy, at minimum

These things can all true at the same time

I’m not ignoring anything. Last year was elite and is the bulk of his high rating and ratio.
Prior years were solid but not elite. And was very turnover prone.

Also, ratio is compared to your peers. You can ignore stats all you want but the truth is there.
Rookie year 8 picks in 6 starts with 74 Int %+ way below average
Second year was a 109 Int %+ solid
Third year was 98 Int %+ below average
Fourth year was 117 %+ elite

    100 is league average

You can look at bulk numbers all you want, last year really helped them. But when compared to the league and his peers, that’s where he stands.

And how many would Mills throw in 6 games ? About 15? Watson was electric as a rookie. Mills on the other hand is throwing 3 picks vs a 3rd team defense. He ain’t it.

He might not be it, most likely isn’t. But you don’t give up on those physical traits after 3 preseason games.

Bucs didn’t give up on Jameis for a while. Bills sure are glad they didn’t give up on Allen, who is ranked higher than Watson by his peers.

Traits of completing passes to the other team? If you want a chance to draft rattler or Howell then definitely let Mills start.

I dunno, they could start Tyrod and still have a good chance at a Top 2 pick. This offense has the makings of being really really bad.

If you can’t see that he’s has some pretty impressive throws and throws on the run, I don’t know what to tell you.
He more than likely is not going to amount to anything, but the physical makeup and some of the wow plays are enough to warrant some time.
And yes, you start him to see if he’s it or not so that you have a chance to get a high pick for a QB. Even in a weak early QB draft. Rattler and Howell leave a lot to be desired. Short, average athleticism but big armed QBs
