So... your suggested solution is to have Democrats lead a grass roots effort to get people help getting IDs? In Texas? Can you point to past Democrat led grass roots efforts to get state-wide legislation passed in Texas? btw The same Democrats that have largely opposed voter ID requirements?
Yes, the SECOND strike is. "The strike was the second by America since the airport suicide bombing. On Saturday, a strike in Nangarhar province killed an Islamic State member believed to be involved in planning attacks against the United States in Kabul."
The efforts need not be focused solely on passing legislation. Provide assistance on obtaining IDs through the existing legal means. You consider this to be an impossible task not worth spending time on? Yes. Rather than oppose voter ID requirements — which the majority of people support — actually try to address the underlying problem of many of their constituents not having a valid ID.
Democrats changing their position to support voter IDs then suggests there is a problem with voter fraud. Which there isn't. Don't think that is a winning move for Democrats. And Texas republicans have been focusing on legislation to make it difficult to vote... don't see how democrats encouraging voter IDs helps counter republican legislative moves.
Yep, this is the main blunder (abandoning Bagram I think was the other). Everything he's being criticized about now would either not be the case, or be DRASTICALLY diminished, if the evacuation had started earlier. These last couple of weeks would have been spent getting the REMAINDER of the people out, not essentially all of them. Throw in better planning on the phasing, including keeping Bagram open, and injecting some more personnel, and Kabul likely doesn't fall, and all of this would not be being done behind enemy lines, either.
No, it doesn’t. It addresses the reality that not having an ID is a barrier for their participation in a range of civic activities — whether you think that’s right or not.
Way to go Biden more than 100k out......very few Americans left....rough beginning VERY solid ending. DD
That Taliban is sure well equipped. Would hate to be the Taliban fighter who has to fight them. This stacked Taliban could go toe to toe with anyone. Even the US military.
https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-...eave-international-statement-says-2021-08-29/ LONDON, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The Taliban will allow all foreign nationals and Afghan citizens with travel authorisation from another country to leave Afghanistan, according to a joint statement issued by Britain, the United States and other countries. "We have received assurances from the Taliban that all foreign nationals and any Afghan citizen with travel authorization from our countries will be allowed to proceed in a safe and orderly manner to points of departure and travel outside the country," they said in the statement. The statement said the countries, which also included Australia, Japan, France, Spain and many others, would continue to issue travel documents to designated Afghans.
If the fake 300k strong Afgan government couldn't maintain/fly those planes/helicopters there's no way the Taliban will. There going to need to find a lot of mechanics.
Former/Current CIA/NSA talking heads are paid to bullshit on America's Bullshit Networks. They never retract or recant, and will bullshit under oath if need be.
Oh, expecting voters to be able to prove they are who they say they are is totally reasonable. Nothing wrong with it. The problem is not everyone is able to provide that proof, not the requirement of proof.
I feel ya. It's just that we're told to respect the military or national defense experts. These spooks can't help but tell you up is down and down is up. They used to joke that if they told you, they'd have to kill you...then go with this "can't confirm nor deny" game. Now they're paid 6 figures to spew out slop for pigs to eat up.
Not all military... The best officers rarely make it to the public scene, they could careless about the political aspect of it.... T_Man
