“Bad reactions to some vaccines in the past” sounds like BS. Being personally irresponsible when it comes to health and safety of those around you is unfortunately a factor in custody cases like this. The father also has a right not to send his child to live with someone who is unvaccinated and therefore at higher risk of transmitting the virus. If she cares so much about being with her son physically, there’s a very simple solution.
Canada has 8 million more people than Texas, and has 30k less deaths... I always knew that Texans, and frankly most southerners in the USA, were say stupider than the rest of the world. COVID has proven it. the Smartest countries are the ones with the least tragedy.
Our death rate is 10 times higher than them right now too. Texas is averaging 250 deaths a day to Canada's 24. Saddest part is that even for those who live, so many Texans will be stuck with thousands of dollars of hospital charges while Canadians don't have that extra burden to put them in debt for years and years.
for many here, there is no anti-COVID measure too extreme that they won't blindly and enthusiastically adhere to
for some here, every covid measure is objectionable and they will blindly reject it no matter how much science, data , sense and precedent supports it.
Wow sounds like your every Sunday Christian church is r****ded We see the people dying of covid in the deep south, and they are all scared shitless just like everyone else. This guy isn't in church, he's not a pastor, he's a god damn governor addressing people about a public health crisis, he should probably shut the fck up if that's the smartest thing he can come up with. Some gems from this guys wiki page
Do we know what percentage of the daily COVID deaths being reported are for fully vaccinated people? If everyone got vaccinated, how many thousands would be alive today?
In general that’s over reach. But it’s a custody case and we don’t know all the details. Maybe the child has cancer and is at a high risk. What we do know is the mom values seeing her son in person less than staying unvaccinated.
NYT shows cumulative breakthrough death. Pretty much almost all of them would be alive. It would be over. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/08/10/us/covid-breakthrough-infections-vaccines.html
That data is a bit old (mid June) before delta actually picked pace. I agree that if everyone (or close to) are vaccinated we would have completely minimized this but, I wish the breakthrough numbers are tracked more efficiently. It is getting increasingly frustrating to find that data.
So for those who are more informed, can someone tell me when we can expect cases to go back down again? I think Britain dealt with Delta before we did; how long was their Delta surge? At what point will the case numbers start to drop off?
