It’s gonna be a veteran starting unit. Wall, Gordon, House, Wood, Theis with Tate as the 6th man. Nwaba and Augustin round out your 8 man rotation. Porter, Green, Martin, etc finally get their opportunity to sit on the bench and learn how to win. Maybe some spot starts but hopefully no injuries this year so the young guys don’t have to deal with the pressure of playing games. We’ll see if they’ve improved next off-season/summer league if they can crack the rotation by 22-23.
Wall/Nwaba Green/Brooks/Gordon KPJ/Martin Jr Wood/Tate Sengun/Theis If possible, trade House and EG for a staring SF or PF
Need to move EGo and House. Maybe even Augustin. Nwaba, Snipa and maybe even Anderson need minutes too. Hate to see EGo leave, but it's time. He needs to go to a contender that can use more 2 way proven playoff players like Nuggets, 76ers or Nets.
Jalen Green will play small forward, he will be a starter playing on that position. Kevin Porter Jr will start at shooting guard.
Unfortunately, that’s what I see too. Wall and Porter and not complimentary players. They both need the ball in their hands to be effective. Neither KPJ or Wall are good outside shooters. Maybe KPJ develops a better 3-Pt shot this year, but there is no reason that Wall will after all these years. Wall should be 6th man of the year, instead of starting. Silas should limit there playing time together. KPJ’s numbers without Wall in the lineup were demonstrably better than when they played together.
The issue is Wall's contract. He is getting paid a lot. That's why they can't put him on the bench. Maybe if they can agree on a buyout. But I don't see it.
Who do I THINK will be starting 5: Theis Wood Tate Green (unless KPJ impresses in camp more) Wall Who I think SHOULD be starting 5: Theis Wood Tate Green KPJ
I can’t wait for wall and gordon to be gone so we can just run kpj/Dj/Nix Green/khyri/brooks/Christopher Tate/nwaba/bey? Wood/kmj/hurt? Theis/sengun/garuba I think theis is going to be important for the development of our young guys just like I thought kelly o would…hard working leader that really puts in the work, can pass and spread the floor somewhat, he’ll help the young guys shine…dj and nwaba both there to help with development as well, but maybe khyri or brooks take over backup pg eventually Christopher, garuba, spend time in rgv….nix and hurt or bey on 2 ways
I think the FO/coaching staff is going to go with the vets and want to show off $60 million in salary for at least half of the season (barring injury): Wall Gordon Tate Wood Theis I think we are going to play the "competing for the 8th seed/play in" role until the deadline. CF will probably be pissed, but I think it will be the correct, temporary move.
No way Tate should LOSE his starting position because either Wall or KPJ couldn't handle coming off the bench.
Agree Tate should, and probably will, start. At least to begin the season. And KPJ as 6th man makes much more sense on so many levels.
I think this is the lineup, but you are forgetting KMJ off of the bench. Unless Wall is really focused, that lineup is going to have major defensive challenges in the backcourt and wings.
I don't mind this. Charlotte brought lamelo off the bench in the begining of the seson, let him get his feet wet and understand the pace and make mistakes and he had somethign to go earn and was a started by the mid year. We have wall whether we like it or not. I would start those vets and just limit their minutes and get the yougn guys in different sequences to play with the vets and off the vets and as the season goes on kick up their minutes and responsiblities when they look like their ready.
