    are you serious?
    this is the tribal problem
do you know who voted for the war? Who voted for aggression in yemen, kosovo, iraq before the war?
Do you know who voted for a crime bill and drug laws that have made private prisons wildly rich and incarcerated so many people for non violent crimes?
Those were democrat bills and I don't think its just their issue, the two parties all gerry mander, lobby/bribe, look out for their own sustainance and then a playful media plays it like sports teams to point to the other side while both of the mare screwing us over

Sadly, we deserve better repreasentation and the populace is not so black/white as two sides...but that works for incumbents to consolidate. Look at how much money the dems/republicans approve for military, aid in countries that lobby them be it fRom Israel to Saudi and go check the lobbying numbers. Go check how pelosi has invested money of people she over looks, and obviously trump and his kids grift and even hutners. They all abuse it,

Its been a private jet political class that is more out of touch than ever, less reachable, and only show up for photo ops during election season. They say they know how dc works, but dc hasn't effectively or efficiently work for the people. And learn about how contracts work, be it in education, infrastructure, or war....to call it inefficient is an understatement. They absolutely abuse our tax dollars

We cn do better all around. Thats a fact, the only people who benefit from that mentality are peope who have gotten so much wrong the past 20 years that we'd never hire executives with that track record, but some how we wash it

ISI (Pakistan intelligence) has been backing Taliban for decades for this specific reasons. ISI has given financial backing to taliban since we invaded in 2001. Pakistan is going to leverage their relationship and annex and big chunk of NE Afghanistan (where the mineral $$ is). Pakistan has been playing the long game this whole time

All the more reason why people should be able to vote their arses out but with all the new voting laws they have made it harder to get rid of them.

Pakistan isn't too far from being a failed state as well.

Life's mission is to make American the most lethal foreign policy instrument? Strange -- not sure what that means.

But I applaud him for speaking his mind despite the anticipated repercussions. Must not have been an easy decision.

I agree with what he said, just as I agree with the Marines relieving him of his command. As the Lt. Colonel said himself, "My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do… if I were in their shoes." It's a pity that he felt that he had to destroy a distinguished career on principal, but I respect him for doing it. A couple of high ranking generals threatening to resign over the "plan" to leave Afghanistan might have actually caused the Biden administration to pause and reconsider how it was going to be carried out, but that didn't happen. They chose to follow their own chain of command.

What should have happened far earlier, when the plan was made during the trump administration (with Pompeo busy bragging about how "great" an agreement it was with the Taliban, selling out the Afghan government in the process), was a strong Defense Secretary threatening to resign were the document agreed to, and then carrying out that resignation if he or she was ignored. That didn't happen. The intimidation of trump doubtless was a factor during all of this. A loose cannon capable of anything, with no qualms about destroying careers.

To get a little into the nuts and bolts of what went down, I was surprised that we left Bagram Air Base, an enormous facility 40 miles from Kabul, where we could have retained the military assets to make the Taliban think twice about interfering with a measured withdrawal of US and allied forces from Kabul and the surrounding area. I've read a couple of folks saying that the base was , "Forty miles from Kabul, so what good would it do?" It would have made a huge difference, in my opinion. A sword on the necks of the Taliban, minutes from Kabul by air via chopper, maybe an hour on the ground.

Perhaps that was part of Pompeo and trump's plan, agreed to with the Taliban. That doesn't mean Biden had to carry it out. The president could have literally done whatever he wished.

I don't mind Id laws and setting new precedence. I do hope we continue to ugprade our outdated election systems, technology is wildly changing, just like with the pandemic or any risk to our way of life, we should be proactiv

and then again for anyone talking about georgia law...they made it a felony to give water to people in line....so they went full stupid.

And you're right, we should..they all have passed on by and let gerry mandering and lobbying/bribery flourish in a way that benefits only them

He's right, someone high up in the military made the wrong decision and needs to be held accountable. I respect him and thank him for his sacrifice...

That's why there should be term limits if the President can only go 2 terms they should only be allowed at max 4 terms that may stop some of the nonsense that's been in place for decades.

Oh i totally agree with the ID part but stopping people from giving water and not being able to vote on Sundays changing the time of early voting just doesn't make sense.

A lot of older Hispanics and Black folks don't have valid ID's in which they can use to vote. Some have been expired for quite a few years or the younger generation never took the time to get them. Covid has helped in the sense its laid back some of the more stringent rules when it comes to ID and license renewals online for Texas but that's it.

anyone who isnt homeless has at least one of those. I mean a texas id care really, i think i had one of those when i was 16. Stop making african americans feel like we are victims. We are just as capable of getting up off our butts and doing the same thing whites can do. Its not like we are in the era of the racist democrat kkk when they had seperate fountains and whites only signs. Your race shouldnt prevent you from getting a simple form of id. I like these policies, it helps prevent election fraud
