I have covid rn, It's really chill. I just have a stuffy nose and a headache.

Desantis is one of the best governors in America and understands Covid isn't worth sacrificing peoples freedoms and livelihoods.

nobody is sacrificing (or proposing to sacrifice)anything to Covid. But the less sociopathic among us are more than willing to sacrifice overcrowded spaces and a little comfort for the health and safety of our fellow human beings.

Wake up - Covid restrictions have greatly impacted careers, finances, and families.

It's commonplace to question the education, morality, or competency of anyone who disagrees with left leaning views.

This data is pretty easy to find...

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Click on the "/1M Pop" column headers for cases and deaths.

    To make it easier,
    • Deaths/1M Pop: FL was 22nd highest, TX was 25 highest, CA was 32nd highest
    • Total Cases/1M Pop: FL was 5th highest, TX 26th highest, CA was 35th highest.

More precisely... COVID-19 has impacted careers, finances, and families. The slower and weaker we respond, the more we allow variants like the current Delta variant to mutate and spread, and then the longer it will take and the worse things will get.

You know what else has greatly impacted careers, finances and families - even more so than restrictions? Catching COVID.

I didn't question your education, morality or competency, although I am now questioning your reading comprehension abilities.

A few posters here will agree with your views, Do not know what kind of education in your career, but hope you do not catch the Covid again or to spread it to your family.

This shows the comparable numbers for CA:

    https://covid19.ca.gov/state-dashboard/

California 7-day average of new deaths attributable to COVID-19 peaked at 700 in January. Florida hasn't hit that mark yet.

Total COVID-19 deaths in California are 64,677. In Florida, it looks to be at 42,252. But California also has close to twice the population of Florida.

ERs around me in Galveston County are nearly out of beds, same with all of Houston. I'm currently getting treatment for cancer. There are multiple side effects from my treatment that could require me to go to the ER. Luckily I can go to MD Anderson, but that's over an hour away. I sit here everyday hoping I don't have to risk it by going to one of the local ERs filled with dumb ass freedom fighters who didn't give a **** about anyone else. That includes my parents.

But cool, Hospitals being short staffed and out of beds hasn't directly affected you, so **** everyone else right?

Damn. I did not know you had that challenge. My spouse now faces similar, sadly, and we have similar worries for the treatments and the functioning of hospitals.

I tried to talk to a vaccine-denying relative about how it helps immune-compromised folks like my Mrs if we get vaccinated and keep hospitals in normal working order… but of course did not get very far.

The FDA approval will definitely help but on its own, I wonder if it moves the needle much. Where the needle will move is when the fed gov, local gov, military, schools (16+), and the private sector require covid vaccination, which they should now be able to do more easily with FDA approval.

People can decide on their own what they want to do. Fox and others can do their things. The gov should continue to encourage vaccination and the US should now move on to requiring it. Starts with school staff where kids under 12 have no choice.
