Rockets won't be anywhere close to the playoffs for a few years at least so losing is going to happen and rightfully so.

If we had John Wall of 2017 (20/10 on 37% from three) would we all be so down? Because, while it’s a large “if,” IF he comes back even stronger this year (last year was basically a rehab on the court year), along with Eric Gordon and Christian Wood — that’s a good three for a core.

Now add in Green, KPJ, Martin, potentially Sengun and then Theis and you have a decent team.

I really don’t understand why people think we are one of the worst teams. Wall was not THAT bad last season. Wood’s health is a concern, sure. But Ego has been a fairly consistent player most his career and time with us, outside of last year.

additinally, new coach, new system last season PLUS Covid and Harden drama. I think many of you are going to be surprised by our success.

On paper it would seem this might be the case but I just can’t see it. I think green is going to show Flashes of greatness but will have a lot of growing pains. Gordon can be hit or Miss or really bad or really good. Wall is going to be full on toxic bc he’s mad he isn’t playing for a contender or something (maybe) I just hope they can make some games competitive and even if they lose these young players will get time on the court and slowly but surely improve.

I think they are both too young and too old/injured (gordon/wall) I also believe they want to lose one more season. Which if I am right and they do well they will likely trade Gordon/Wood to lose more regardless.

They very could have lost on purpose last year for a 18th pick. They keep the pick no matter this season. So you are going to try to do that so you can win 10-15 more games and still miss the playoffs. In my opinion hell no.

So if they start of the year 9-1 (I haven’t even looked at the schedule so don’t think about the matchups) would you want them to start losing or see how far it goes?

I get the tank feelings if we are already losing, but why wouldn’t you go into a season hoping to win? As if we are guaranteed a high draft pick, and guaranteed to make the right choice on that draft pick. Lotssss of busts. Teams have missed multiple years in a row on high draft picks. It’s not a guaranteed way to success. Most teams use a combination of draft, trade, and signings. The chances of hitting a generational talent are not great.

    I wanna win! Right meow!

What's better - sitting our vets and letting our young core develop through their mistakes and risk deflating their confidence, or playing our vets and letting our young core develop at a slower pace and learning from the vets' experience but risk winning enough games to miss out on a top five draft pick?
