Taylor Jones with his breakout game yesterday as well. Another highly athletic player. Gurriel probably has 2 good years left, it would be awesome to transition over to Jones seamlessly.
The ceiling for Maton >>> Straw. In fact, we sold high on Straw who is more likely to decline as a hitter (.220-.240) vs advance further than he's done in this breakout season. Add in the potential of this catcher who has been highly successful at the plate in the minors. It's simply a genius trade.
Swings at pitches out of the zone 28% of the time (309th in MLB) 30.5% whiff percentage (432rd in MLB) 21.8% swing and miss percentage at pitches in the zone (403rd in MLB)
Just curious is Jake Meyers a 5 Tool Player. I think he is Speed Hit for Average Hit for Power Defense Arm Strength
Trading Reliever Josh Fields for Dodgers Prospect Yordan Alvarez Astros destroyed Josh Fields in the World Series in 2017
James Click is following the same motto Jeff Luhnow does, sell high and get prospects who are potential stars.
I think so. Hit for average and on base skills are really the only tool he’ll need to prove he can sustain over a season. Might be the best athlete on the team. Unrelated but speaking of athletes in the Astros farm system, anyone seen Jeremy Pena Instagram. He legit looks like a Marvel superhero, have high hopes for him in the bigs.
This year is his first extended look. The only other year he got more than 100 MLB at bats, he performed better than he has this year. His total minor league stats show much better production. Seems the law of averages do not agree with your statement. Anything else?
