Dude you're living out a more archaic mindset then the people you're talking about. There are no religious leaders in the middle East, it's a sham and you haven't figured it out in god knows how many years. You think the Ayatollah cares about Islam more than money, and that's absurdly Islamophobic as soon as you look at their decisions and actions. Absurd. Of every 10 decisions they make, 9 are in the interest of personal wealth or nepotism. We've watched your repeat this non sense for over a decade now here and in that time a cursory look at any data would dispose of this idea. Tunisia became a democracy by itself, meanwhile you've spent 50 years in the middle East and there's not a democracy to be found in a region with 300+ million seeking freedom. Your are buddies with most of their oppressors. Give your self victimisation a rest. "Oh we did everything but they don't believe in logic" go f*CK yourself. The citizens - not the dozen dictators you use to stereotype them - all want sovereignty, and then democracy. Yes, we might - gasp - invent a different democracy than you believe in that turns tribes into positive units. They are stealing your money and ours while you're yelling at a1970's version of the middle East that's never coming back. They're not trying to spread democracy, they are befriending the opposite type of person from the day they arrived. What they're trying to achieve is money out of your pocket and into their allies pockets. No **** middle easterners will often not cooperate. It's not your place. You're engaging in a heist at your neighbor's house and asking why the service sucks. If you can't understand the fundamental secular problems that middle easterners have and your place in it, it is silly to act like you understand the problem or the people. Hint: everyone wants the exact same thing you want for your country, and are willing to do everything your forefathers were willing to do that worked and are as unwilling to listen to their colonizers advice as your founders were.
Yeah a lot of people are to blame for our involvement in Ahghanistan. But what just happened was Joe BIden pushing all his chips in betting on the Afghan Army to hold off the Taliban long enough for everyone to get out. Joe lost big time. It's on him. Joe gambled and he lost. This is an ugly stain on his presidency whether you can admit that or not.
Philip Caputo compares the Afghanistan withdrawal and the fall of Saigon ‘The Temperature in Saigon Is 105 and Rising’ What I learned about American power watching the U.S. leave Vietnam — and then Afghanistan decades later. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2021/08/21/saigon-vietnam-kabul-afghanistan-505943
But then it is not just Joe. That is the entire deal for past 18 months.. Isn't it ? The whole deal made with Taliban and Afghan government is based on that. By the time Joe entered this show. there is only 2.5k left to walk out . The only alternative left is to send in more troops. because 2.5k is not enough, if Taliban engages. That may even cause American causalities which looks like is going to be avoided in this case. The entire leaving out of Afghanistan episode is based on the Afghan government holding up. This sudden change of events is not expected( or may be something that doesn't have a contingency with admin, even if expected) I bet they expected the Afghan to hold at least few months until after the troops are out and even a little longer for the world to forget. Then it becomes a regular diplomacy scenario.
Lol tell me what the right way to withdraw from Afghanistan looks like. You can't, none of the critics can either, so the natural alternative is more forever war which basically nobody outside of a few elite media types and some FP wonks want
Not how it works.... Civilians and State department workers get a notification of what is about to happen... basically a warning.... Unfortunately a lot of people don't listen and then they start crying wolf afterwards.... NATO had already started Removing their troops, so according to most of you it's basically up to the U.S. Military to do all the work... Biden got the U.S. Military out, and no matter what there was no perfect option.... But you guys keep debating and poking holes, at the end of the day I'm glad we're finally out of that no win situation. T_Man
Yo, stop deflecting. You failed at your mission, quit acting like some "poor me" under appreciated mentor state. You are talking about the most brutal army in history, there's no moral superiority. You're really stuck in a decades old interpretation of the middle East. As if there is ever a genuine effort to unite and free the region while being the #1 weapons salesman. Time to open your eyes.
Inflation…I better take all my money out of my investments and put into Bitcoin before Sleepy Joe kills the dollar.
Except that every report thus far contradicts what you’re saying . Miller from the Trump team made it a point to deny it as long as possible
