House wasn't distracted by life outside of bball. He literally was distracted by life inside a basketball bubble

 

I hope he lives his life to the fullest and becomes the best player in the NBA at the same time.

I usually don't agree with Stephen A Smith, but I agree with his take on Jalen Green. Green "WANTS IT" and has a great work ethic. I don't really care what a player does in his personal life as long as he wins championships. I don't think we have to worry about Jalen being another immature James Harden type of player.

 

Not worried about it

All indications are that Jalen puts in the work. Dude skipped college so he could live basketball 24/7. Nothing wrong with working hard and playing hard

 

Although I usually hear him talk in terms of personal goals instead of team (me, me,...me,...........did I forget to say me!) I definitely think he has the drive to stay focused.

My biggest concern with him would be long term.
He likes the limelight so much I could see him eventually wanting to be in a bigger market for his "brand"!

I think they are afraid that Jalen will turn out like Harden.
But the thing was the media ruined Harden's reputation. There's no way someone could be that good without working on their craft.

 

If that is your worst fear, you need to get out in the real world.

 

My worst fear is that Royce White becomes the NBA commissioner.

 

Seemed like everyone criticized Harden for having a single man's life outside of work. He was producing and putting up mind-blowing numbers and yet it didn't seem to matter.

 

But then in the playoffs when his 4th quarter shooting and scoring dipped consistently the narrative is "he's tired".

He's going to enjoy life, anyone likely would as a 20 year old millionaire and with superstar potential.

But he's built habits and a support structure that's kept him focused, even in the harsh environment he grew up in. I think he's got mental strength and focus and will be fine. He's driven to put in work everyday and want's to be an all time great.

His idol is Kobe, who's idol was Jordan, both loved the game and were obsessed with getting better.
