I was searching for the thread that states what you learned during COVID-19, and I landed here earmuffs kiddos, but what I learned is the moles on my **** were not gentle warts, but actually caused from friction
Yesterday's Texas Medical Center update (got it late) Here are the key data trends: Yesterday, R(t) for the Greater Houston Area was 0.96. Any number above 1.0 indicates the virus continues to spread in our community. Also it is important to note that the R(t) is calculated on a number of factors that can fluctuate from day to day, so look for trending improvement rather than any single day’s value. Yesterday, 2,024 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the Greater Houston Area which continues the growth trend we’ve been experiencing in Houston since early July Yesterday, TMC admitted 448 new COVID-19 patients in TMC hospital institutions. Only the 6thtime since the start of the pandemic where we’ve had more than 400 new hospitalizations in a day, 4 of which have been in the last 7 days. Within the TMC, there are currently 2,662 COVID-19 positive patients in hospital (ICU and Med/Surg combined), which marks the highest total number of COVID-19 patients ever reported in our hospitals on a single day, for the second time this week. 2,131,253 doses have been administered by TMC institutions. Over the last week, an average of 2,884 doses per day have been administered 1,138,204 people have been fully vaccinated Dashboard and Monitoring Metrics attached.
Random observation at my school... the students are doing a much better job of wearing and keeping their masks on this year that we are not making them wear them than last year that it was required.
The article reads it as a preventative, not a treatment. So... basically a pill version of a vaccine, that seems less effective (77% vs the vaccines which are more effective). Pills also can have just as many and usually more side effects given it impacts your gut flora. Indeed the article says its a vaccine supplement. Which isn't to say this isn't solid news... just what we really need is "oh, you have covid, take this or this combo of drugs and it will 99.5% prevent severe disease progression" or something like that.
This video actually touches on a decent amount of topics and the reality that a high percentage of the population is going to have to get it to some degree (natural/vaccine). Things will eventually return to normal one way or another, but covid has certainly made it difficult with the asymptomatic spread.
I’ve watched a bunch of this guys videos, he’s a buddy of a doctor buddy of mine in New York. Really refreshing seeing a neutral POV. And at least in his professional opinion, it will end up being a seasonal thing much like it’s relatives. Just a matter of time
That's awesome and thanks again for sharing it, I really like the neutral POV too. I wish more things were reported in this manner, I think it would help a lot.
“The researchers point out that individuals with vitamin D deficiency were not included in the study. “ I haven’t actually read the study but it seems kind of dumb to not include deficient people. The whole point of supplementing vitamin D is for deficient people. There is a lot of evidence that indicates increasing vitamin D to healthy levels improves immune function and helps with auto immune disease.
Let's be clear: This vaccine came out during Trump's admin. Democrats flat-out said they wouldn't take it under a Trump admin. And yet here we are. Even if Trump were still in office (which I think we all see being the lesser of the catastrophes) I would never had taken the shot. There were too many unknowns & I certainly don't trust a hobbit. Here we are two years later. I've noticed I sneeze slightly more often. None of the thousands I've hung out with have had any issues. My son got it last year and we chuckled about it. Not saying this isn't something to be treated as a possible deadly infection. Kinda like the flu; which CDC is showing the Delta variant being very similar. That's a good thing. Time to move on!
Also, for those who think if we just vaccinate everyone this will go away? There are still millions across the globe that don't have the vaccine for Polio, Measles, etc. The reason that doesn't scare us? Those vaccines work. This one doesn't.
reported for spreading dangerous misinformation regarding COVID. ask your boy Trump, who was hospitalized despite having the best care in the United States, if it’a “kinda like the flu.” I’m really glad your son was ok when he got COVID, but to look at the hospitalizations, the deaths, and the long term health consequences and shrug your shoulders is, at this point in the pandemic, idiotic. Please take time to educate yourself before spreading politically influenced garbage.
