The Afgahns had 310k trained and equipped fighters, they chose NOT to fight the 70k taliban members.....If they are not going to fight for their own country, why the hell should we?

We should not be trying to nation build, we were there long enough, we set them up to succeed they decided to fail on their own, have had plenty of time to get ready.

Time to go home and focus on the good ole USA.......NO MORE WARS!

Agree, except there is one part we failed miserably. We assumed we could go into another country and instill our American values on another country. That was a bad assumption. We tried to instill our western Christian philosophy on them. It didn't work. SHOCKER.

If we wanted them to succeed, it's like Office Space, you need to want more flair. I can't tell you how much flair to have, you need to want it yourself. I used to lol but as I get older, now I realize Stan kinda has a point.

When Biden got re-elected because you and people who suck Trump dick thought you can create a narrative that Trump was some anti-interventionist who was above defense contractors and Biden was a shill for them who was going to get us back into never ending wars?

 

I don't think anyone disagrees with leaving. It's all in the how we are doing that....it is being executed just horribly.

 

It could have gone better, for sure, but there is no elegant way to exit, it was always going to be a cluster ****, just rip off the bandaid and do the best you can.

And we need to stop overthrowing governments in that TRIBAL assed region of the world, they don't want democracy - or if they do they need to learn to fight for it on their own.

Well, that seemed to be Biden's plan. Not going so well.

FWIW, I think there WAS an elegant way to exit, or at least a lot more effective. Evacuate Bagram last, not first. Start evacuating the people before the troops. Bring in more troops to hold things down during the evacuation. Much more successfully evaluate the ability/desire of the Afghans to fight when we left, and get a lot more of our equipment out ahead of time. I don't think it had to be a cluster ****. Sure, still would have been bad things happening after we left, but that would have been after getting our people out first. That's the issue now...we left Americans, and our allies there, trapped behind enemy lines. And I think we could have avoided that.
