Notes: 1) We are in the midst of a PR campaign which insinuates that if the US leaves your country, some savages will come and take over. Nevermind that the US military trained, armed, promoted, attacked, inflamed and successfully negotiated a truce with those barbarians. There is an uptick - both in the US and the world - of people wondering what the F you're doing abroad if nothing changes in those countries and it costs billions to trillions of dollars while most Americans can't afford a $5,000 medical emergency, pandemic is ravaging the country, drug addiction soaring, modern infrastructure nowhere to be seen, and so many other issues that you guys discuss on here. 2) The Afghan people were dealing with two cancers/invasions. One by the most powerful, aggressive military in human history, and one by some really brutal, aggressive people who live in the mountains, but they can barely read, have 0 experience actually running a non-failed state and have the lowest tier of weapons available to militants. Last week, the Afghan people took 2 steps forward (getting rid of the more dangerous cancer) and 1 step back (regardless of what the Taliban say, they are going to make women's life hell). Life is not ideal. Afghans only have to get rid of the Taliban now, and this is a massive step towards sovereignty for the first time in decades and some would argue centuries. The news will have you believe the cancer doubled when in fact it has halved. They will not be less democratic than the US puppets Karzai and Ghani, they will similarly pass the torch between themselves to simulate democracy. Afghans have made advancements in sovereignty and sovereignty comes before all the other rights and liberties (as Kennedy so clearly communicated by nearly nuking Cuba). 3) The Taliban are a bunch of fascist, garbage people with selfish goals. They will not kill more Afghans than the US military once they become classed as a government and a military rather than the arbitrary label of militants. They will never kill the same number of Afghans as the US military, estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands split between those under US command, those fighting for Taliban and approximately 70,000 civilians. They are not going to have a holocaust of women. They will execute their dangerous political enemies like Karzai/Ghani did. They will treat women and to some extent men like crap. They will not kill anywhere in the ballpark of the US/Karzai/Ghani cartel. I will make a condition here: this is assuming the US has not already planted a civil war as we factually know they did in Iran for example, among many other countries since the 60's. It is fishy to me how quickly the fake government gave up, and no one is talking about where those soldiers and their weapons are. I said this during the Iraq war about the masses of sunni soldiers who disappeared from the army. We later found them fighting for a group that came to be known as ISIS. Beware Afghans, the Taliban are in the pockets of the neo-liberals via Pakistan and their regional allies, who are all of course US allies. 4) You're fine, you're good. No one hates you cause you left. Anyone who makes you feel like you're abandoning them is playing victim, it's not on you. You are in desperate need for saving tax dollars, everyone you help abroad is costing you lives, growth and opportunities at home. The absence of available capital is generating terroristic behavior in poor communities in your country and that's how the cancer spreads. It's ok to be selfish with your money, you factually work harder than most citizens in the world and your middle/lower income groups are not among the best paid. It would have been nice if the Taliban were weak right now for the Afghans to take, but it is what it is. 5) This is like a break up. It's hard and you have confusing questions, but you did the right thing cause the b*tch is crazy and she is making you bipolar. Having 100+ bases on a planet of roughly 200 countries (no one else has more than 10), you will eventually have a negative return on income (budget increase for what 50 years) and it is clear now that the operational cost of those bases (while autonomous warfare takes over) will be what we will talk about in the future as the downfall of the empire. There's too much paranoia and it is paralyzing you, they have you believing everyone wants to kill innocent American citizens for no reason at all but some mythical jealousy. 6) Everyone is always worried about what attacks will happen on the US if the US doesn't take the war to them in their country. Well they're going to be there forever, are you? No you're not. So the next logical thing is: leave in peace, show them that you are leaving in peace. Taliban does not care about attacking the US it has Afghanistan to play with. The other Afghans do not hate the US. These people all want Afghanistan, and there is still so much fighting coming and so much building to do. You did the right thing and there is no additional risk. At most, a terrorist scare or - God forbid - a small attack. Those are human lives, but for those who are pragmatic and unemotional: a few deaths in America is worth the hundreds of Americans and thousands of Afghans who would die if you stayed. They are just stealing your money and everyone else's. None of us are winning. Cut your costs, reduce your tensions with the rest of the world, invest in yourselves. You deserve it, you've worked so hard for so long and the age of automation and robotics is about to decimate the bank accounts of over 90% of your population. Take this turning point seriously.
Also, there is not a single source on the internet (at the time of this post) to identify the people who fell from the plane or got caught in the landing gear, neither in Afghanistan nor internationally. There is one journalist who spoke to a man who claims two bodies fell on his roof. The publication refused to share pictures. Two men fall from an airplane and land on the same roof. Do you know how big that roof would have to be for two men to fall on the same one from that height? What we have right now is: - A video showing two body-looking things falling off a plane, easily doctored. The people in the video do not react to bodies falling out of the sky. - A video showing the bottom half of a man stuck in the landing gear of a plane. Again, not identifiable. No one has claimed it's their family. No one is looking for the bodies. No one has seen an image of a dead body with a face. One person claims both bodies fell on his roof, and a tertiary look at the video of them falling will tell you there's no way they landed on the same roof (they let go at different intervals). I've never seen anything like it. Highly suspect. 99.99999999999999% of Middle Eastern citizens will not cling to a plane if you leave peacefully, don't you worry lol. Also, if we have people in our gene pool who are that dumb or committed such a huge treachery that they can't fathom staying, it's an acceptable sacrifice for sovereignty and is a less fatal outcome than the alternative.
this doesn't make any sense. either Parliament did what is being reported here or it didn't. or do we now officially only allow "liberal" sources?
Actually in this case I don't give a crap about the Left or the Right resources...... US has had more troops over in Afghanistan than any other country... In 2014..... US - 2500 Troops Germany - 1300 Troops UK - 750 Troops And the dynamics stay that way until now... So these countries want to pitch a fit and they are not sending over the resources like the US??? So please continue to post anything that you like... Biden the right thing.... He brought my family home... I care more about them than all of this Political BS... T_Man
Most European troops exit Afghanistan quietly after 20 years https://apnews.com/article/europe-a...rus-pandemic-9c1c4f5732c032ba85865aab0338a7a3 "Most European troops have already pulled out of Afghanistan, quietly withdrawing months before the U.S.-led mission was officially expected to end — part of an anticlimactic close to the “forever war” that risks leaving the country on the brink of civil war. Germany and Italy declared their missions in Afghanistan over on Wednesday and Poland’s last troops returned home, bringing their deployments to a low-key end nearly 20 years after the first Western soldiers were deployed there. Announcements from several countries analyzed by The Associated Press show that a majority of European troops has now left with little ceremony — a stark contrast to the dramatic and public show of force and unity when NATO allies lined up to back the U.S. invasion to rid the country of al-Qaida after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks." So basically the UK and the other countries have already left and now they are trying to talk crap.... T_Man
"Biden Afghanistan policy counts on war weary Americans to lose interest": https://www.reuters.com/world/us/bi...ng-importance-war-weary-americans-2021-08-20/ excerpt: WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden is brushing off criticism of his administration's chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal because he and his aides believe the political fallout at home will be limited, according to White House allies and administration officials. Biden and his top aides argue they are managing an evacuation mission as well as could be expected given the faster-than-anticipated takeover of the country by Taliban insurgents, and are seeking to draw attention back to the choice to get U.S. troops out of the country. read more The strategy is based on internal and public polling that shows the Afghanistan withdrawal had been by far the most popular decision Biden has made, even though the issue was not central for most voters. "The public opinion is pretty damn clear that Americans wanted out of the ongoing war and don't want to get back in. It's true today and it's going to be true in six months," said one Biden ally. "It isn't about not caring or being empathetic about what's going on over there, but worrying about what's happening in America." Biden has faced criticism even from some fellow Democrats for his handling of the crisis. But White House officials believe Americans' horror over graphic images of the chaos in Kabul and pleas from Afghans who fear they will be killed by the Taliban will morph into support for the president's decision to pull troops from the country by Aug. 31 after a 20-year war. They expect the Afghanistan story to recede from the headlines, replaced by the resurgence in COVID-19 cases, the economic recovery and other issues, people familiar with the matter said. A White House spokesperson declined to comment. more at the link
Does that pin include the 5000 Afghan prisoners that Trump demanded the Afghan government to release last year who most of them joined back with the Taliban? And btw I already know you won't reply to me either in good faith or at all so this is more of a reply for others.
Why do you spin bullshit that isn't true Jesus chrsit. The entire media and establishment brainwashes and war mongers people like you. The situation isn't getting worst all those scumbag filthy rich Muslim countries refuse to accept their fellow brothers and sisters while brainwashed Americans are worried about women's rights LOL Hilarious how civilian deaths are at record highs the past few years yet the corporate media never ran a single article reflecting that. Now it's all women's rights https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-slaves-and-the-u-s-is-looking-the-other-way/ Why didn't corporate media talk about the child sex slaves that everyone knew Afghan generals had ?!
Shut up clown. You voted for this joke administration. Nothing I said about the 8 hour pause was incorrect.
LOL I'm a clown because your bullshit fear mongering makes you a effin joke. You posted BULLSHIT about the situation getting worst when in reality it was because arab countries closed their borders. You're a effin joke Situation is "deteriorating" LOL .
You always post these "cartoons" that seem like they were made by children. Or someone with a head injury.
Do you think Trump forcing the Afghan government to release 5000 prisoners most of whom probably rejoined the Taliban had any effect on the speed that the Taliban took back the country? Or do you think that's a stretch?
Not a stretch and that's why Joe's sequence was doomed. You don't remove the troops until the people who need to leave are evacuated. Evacuees shouldn't have to fight their way to the airport.
There will be a Civil War when the Afghan people get fed up with the Taliban. People are going to have to fight for their country at some point.
