i mean it's not like we a list of guys that are hitting better than this as of late

Aledmys Diaz is hitting .347/.373/.583 in 17 games since returning from the IL and .438/.471/.625 during his current eight-game hitting streak, that ended last night obviously

Chance to go up 2 games on the Athletics but instead lose to the 49-67 Royals.

All part of the plan right? :)

As I've said before, no, I'm not watching most of the individual games because I just don't care about the results of 162 individual games and it takes some work to get them in Austin. Teams get hot and cold - I simply don't care about all the details for 6 months. Which of the facts I posted do you disagree with? Are they not 2.5 games out of the best record in the AL? Do they not have the best odds to win the AL? Do they not have to be caught by 3 separate teams to miss the playoffs? Is one of those teams not playing way worse than the Astros?

It's not like fans have a good perspective on a baseball season while its active. After a 5 game winning streak, people think we're the best team in baseball and then 5 games later think we're the worst. 3 weeks ago, people were mocking the Yankees for being buyers instead of sellers saying it was ridiculous and there's no way they'd be in the mix. Fan perspective in the moment is almost always skewed - we're never as bad as we look when losing, and never as good as we look when winning.

The landscape does shift quickly in baseball. Opinions even faster. But the roller coaster of emotions amid both victories and defeats is part of ones sports psyche. Sometimes, its too charged up for me and I have to ignore it all for a bit. Other times, I am entrenched and completely caught in the whirlwind of it all.

Um, having you read the Fire Dusty thread? They are having Hinch wet dreams about him having an out clause in his contract or someshit. LOL. If Dusty doesn’t comeback, it wont be Hinch that replaces him.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains. If the plan is to win 93+ games, the Astros are ahead of schedule of the plan.

this is true but at the same time there's also 3 other teams, arguably 5 on track or on that path. All vying for either the division/wild card spot. There's a good chance we could say 93 wins may not be enough as well to qualify

White Sox and Rays are the only other AL Teams with a projection that good. Odds are very good that if the Astros win 93 games, they are in the playoffs.

NY,boston, and oak are right behind hou. They're also in that projection. As close as the stros are to the ws/rays, they just as close as to those 3 behind them and falling out. I don't think so. We've seen 93 games not be enough to make the playoffs especially if you don't win the division. this year probably won't be any different. There's a number of good teams again this year that are playoff caliber

They are close, but those three teams are not projected to win more than 93 games. Houston takes care of business, and wins at least 93 games, other stuff will take care of itself.

We'll have to disagree there. The astros weren't projected to be struggling like they are against the likes of KC and other last place teams, so I mean not much you can say there as far as actual real projections. reality is those other 3 teams are good and are very capable of winning 93+ games. It isn't relative to just the stros

LOL Dusty. I'm sure he is sick of it all with AB but now he's just talking in circles....

    Dusty Baker on Alex Bregman:
"He’s running better, he’s not gonna play tonight and he should play here pretty soon. … when he’s gonna play exactly, I don’t know."
