Do they suck this season? Don’t know. But for WK1… A few things to consider: 1.) Texans playing at home. 2.) First year NFL Coach, Urban Meyer. 3.) First start of Lawrence career. I have reasons to believe Lovie Smith is the reason Meyer hasn’t named a starter. But does this really matter? I digress. Can someone give me the record of starters in the first games of their career? 4.) Months for one of the best defensive minds, Lovie Smith, to prep for a rookie? With a bunch of VETERAN talent on the defensive side of the ball. End result: Texans the underdog vs the Jaguars. Ask yourself if it makes sense.
I was thinking the same. Divisional game and a dog at home to a rookie qb. Should be a slap in the face to Texans.

I'm probably wrong but people are undervaluing what Tyrod Taylor brings to the team. He's an "ok" QB. The team is good enough to beat the Jags, heck, the spread at +1.5 basically says its a toss up.
Pretty much my thoughts as well. I’m taking the under on Texans wins this season, but I believe that they win week one.
Most NFL starting rosters can look "ok" on paper and certain matchups... much like fantasy football rosters after draft day (everybody "loves" their teams). But its depth and superstars that really separate the haves from the have nots. The Texans are lacking both of those and it will show once the injuries start.
He does not suck, he's an average QB and his .500+ record as starter also indicates that. Unless you think every QB that's not elite "sucks".
